8And the word of the LORD came to Zechariah, saying,
9Thus says the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and show mercy and compassion every man to his brother:
14Since you are sent by the king, and of his seven counselors, to inquire concerning Judah and Jerusalem, according to the law of your God which is in your hand;
15And to carry the silver and gold, which the king and his counselors have freely offered to the God of Israel, whose habitation is in Jerusalem,
16And all the silver and gold that you can find in all the province of Babylon, with the freewill offering of the people, and of the priests, offering willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem:
1And when the seventh month had come, and the children of Israel were in the cities, the people gathered themselves together as one person to Jerusalem.
1Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity were building the temple to the LORD God of Israel,
2Then they came to Zerubbabel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said to them, Let us build with you: for we seek your God, as you do; and we have sacrificed to Him since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assyria, who brought us up here.
27Blessed be the LORD God of our fathers, who has put such a thing as this in the king's heart, to beautify the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem:
7Who came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, Baanah. The number, I say, of the men of the people of Israel was this:
14So the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked on the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,
15on the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month, in the second year of King Darius.
7And there went up some of the children of Israel, and of the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the gatekeepers, and the Nethinims, to Jerusalem, in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king.
8And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king.
1Then the prophets, Haggai the prophet, and Zechariah the son of Iddo, prophesied to the Jews who were in Judah and Jerusalem in the name of the God of Israel, even to them.
2Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, arose and began to build the house of God which is in Jerusalem: and with them were the prophets of God helping them.
3At the same time, Tatnai, governor on this side of the river, and Shetharboznai, and their companions, came to them and said, Who has commanded you to build this house and to finish this wall?
7Also King Cyrus brought out the vessels of the house of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought out of Jerusalem and had put them in the house of his gods;
17Now therefore, if it pleases the king, let a search be made in the king's treasure house, which is there in Babylon, to see whether a decree was made by king Cyrus to build this house of God at Jerusalem, and let the king send his decision to us concerning this matter.
68And some of the heads of the fathers, when they came to the house of the LORD which is at Jerusalem, offered freely for the house of God to set it up in its place:
1The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, when King Zedekiah sent to him Pashur the son of Melchiah, and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest, saying,
2Please inquire of the LORD for us, for Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, makes war against us, perhaps the LORD will deal with us according to all His wondrous works, that he may depart from us.
73So the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, some of the people, the Nethinim, and all Israel, dwelt in their cities. And when the seventh month came, the children of Israel were in their cities.
7Let the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God in its place.

7And they issued a proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem to all the children of the captivity, that they should gather at Jerusalem;
1In the second year of King Darius, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying,
2Thus says the LORD of hosts: This people say, 'The time has not come, the time for the LORD'S house to be built.'

16Then I sent for Eliezer, Ariel, Shemaiah, Elnathan, Jarib, Elnathan, Nathan, Zechariah, Meshullam, chief men; also for Joiarib, and Elnathan, men of understanding.
17And I sent them with orders to Iddo the chief at the place Casiphia, and I told them what they should say to Iddo, and to his brothers the Nethinims, at the place Casiphia, that they should bring us ministers for the house of our God.
12Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the LORD their God and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the LORD their God had sent him; and the people feared the presence of the LORD.
8And with them he sent Levites, Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah, and Tobadonijah, Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, priests.
9Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered at Jerusalem within three days. It was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month. All the people sat in the street of the house of God, trembling because of this matter and because of the heavy rain.
18But if they are prophets, and if the word of the LORD is with them, let them now make intercession to the LORD of hosts, that the vessels which are left in the house of the LORD, and in the house of the king of Judah, and at Jerusalem, go not to Babylon.
3And send them to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the Ammonites, and to the king of Tyre, and to the king of Sidon, by the hand of the messengers which come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah, king of Judah;
36And they delivered the king's decrees to the king's lieutenants, and to the governors on this side of the river; and they supported the people and the house of God.
4And it happened, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned for days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven,
38If they return to you with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, where they have been carried captive, and pray toward their land, which you gave to their fathers, and toward the city which you have chosen, and toward the house which I have built for your name:
9And said to them, Thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, to whom you sent me to present your supplication before him;
4Then the king said to me, What do you request? So I prayed to the God of heaven.
