28I brought them to the land which I swore to give them, but whenever they saw any high hill or leafy tree, they offered their sacrifices there and presented the offerings that provoke me to anger. They offered their soothing aroma there and poured out their drink offerings.
6“For you took pledges from your brothers for no reason, and you stripped the clothing from the naked.
4They lie around on beds decorated with ivory, and sprawl out on their couches. They eat lambs from the flock, and calves from the middle of the pen.
7Even these men stagger because of wine, they stumble around because of beer– priests and prophets stagger because of beer, they are confused because of wine, they stumble around because of beer; they stagger while seeing prophetic visions, they totter while making legal decisions.
15“Woe to you who force your neighbor to drink wine– you who make others intoxicated by forcing them to drink from the bowl of your furious anger, so you can look at their naked bodies.
12They take bribes within you to shed blood. You engage in usury and charge interest; you extort money from your neighbors. You have forgotten me, declares the Sovereign LORD.
7Therefore they will now be the first to go into exile, and the religious banquets where they sprawl on couches will end.
13Get dressed and lament, you priests! Wail, you who minister at the altar! Come, spend the night in sackcloth, you servants of my God, because no one brings grain offerings or drink offerings to the temple of your God anymore.
3and they cast lots for my people. They traded a boy for a prostitute; they sold a little girl for wine so they could drink.
2They confiscate the fields they desire, and seize the houses they want. They defraud people of their homes, and deprive people of the land they have inherited.

7The LORD asked,“How can I leave you unpunished, Jerusalem? Your people have rejected me and have worshiped gods that are not gods at all. Even though I supplied all their needs, they were like an unfaithful wife to me. They went flocking to the houses of prostitutes.
10They have sexual relations with their father’s wife within you; they violate women during their menstrual period within you.
2Even now they persist in sin! They make metal images for themselves, idols that they skillfully fashion from their own silver; all of them are nothing but the work of craftsmen! There is a saying about them:“Those who sacrifice to the calf idol are calf kissers!”
3They drive away the orphan’s donkey; they take the widow’s ox as a pledge.
10Surely they will be totally consumed like entangled thorn bushes, like the drink of drunkards, like very dry stubble.
37For they have committed adultery and blood is on their hands. They have committed adultery with their idols, and their sons, whom they bore to me, they have passed through the fire as food to their idols.
11Beware, those who get up early to drink beer, those who keep drinking long after dark until they are intoxicated with wine.
9The fatherless child is snatched from the breast, the infant of the poor is taken as a pledge.
10They go about naked, without clothing, and go hungry while they carry the sheaves.

13They sacrifice on the mountaintops, and burn offerings on the hills; they sacrifice under oak, poplar, and terebinth, because their shade is so pleasant. As a result, your daughters have become cult prostitutes, and your daughters-in-law commit adultery!
38who ate the best of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink offerings? Let them rise and help you; let them be your refuge!
13The houses in Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah will be defiled by dead bodies just like this place, Topheth. For they offered sacrifice to the stars and poured out drink offerings to other gods on the roofs of those houses.’”
22Beware, those who are champions at drinking, who display great courage when mixing strong drinks.
2Threshing floors and wine vats will not feed the people, and new wine only deceives them.
8They feed on the sin offerings of my people; their appetites long for their iniquity!
31“When someone is accused of sinning against his neighbor and the latter pronounces a curse on the alleged offender before your altar in this temple, be willing to forgive the accused if the accusation is false.
10So I will give their wives to other men and their fields to new owners. For from the least important to the most important of them, all of them are greedy for dishonest gain. Prophets and priests alike, all practice deceit.
4Their wicked deeds do not allow them to return to their God; for a spirit of idolatry is in them, and they do not acknowledge the LORD.
5lest they drink and forget what is decreed, and remove from all the poor their legal rights.
22Your silver has become scum, your beer is diluted with water.

For their bread will be only to satisfy their appetite; it will not come into the temple of the LORD.
6Among the smooth stones of the stream are the idols you love; they, they are the object of your devotion. You pour out liquid offerings to them, you make an offering. Because of these things how can I relent from judgment?
4Listen to this, you who trample the needy, and do away with the destitute in the land.
2Their children are always thinking about their altars and their sacred poles dedicated to the goddess Asherah, set up beside the green trees on the high hills
8For the LORD holds in his hand a cup full of foaming wine mixed with spices, and pours it out. Surely all the wicked of the earth will slurp it up and drink it to its very last drop.”
