    22Do not exploit a poor person because he is poor and do not crush the needy in court,

    23for the LORD will plead their case and will rob the life those who are robbing them.

  • 28That is how they have grown fat and sleek. There is no limit to the evil things they do. They do not plead the cause of the fatherless in such a way as to win it. They do not defend the rights of the poor.

  • 24“But if a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and practices wrongdoing according to all the abominable practices the wicked carry out, will he live? All his righteous acts will not be remembered; because of the unfaithful acts he has done and the sin he has committed, he will die.

  • 12If the person is poor you may not use what he gives you as security for a covering.

  • 2There is only cursing, lying, murder, stealing, and adultery. They resort to violence and bloodshed.

  • 6Stop oppressing resident foreigners who live in your land, children who have lost their fathers, and women who have lost their husbands. Stop killing innocent people in this land. Stop paying allegiance to other gods. That will only bring about your ruin.
