3 So Moses sent them from the wilderness of Paran at the command of the LORD. All of them were leaders of the Israelites.

21 Look, he has placed the land in front of you! Go up, take possession of it, just as the LORD, the God of your ancestors, said to do. Do not be afraid or discouraged!”

42 But the LORD told me:“Tell them this:‘Do not go up and fight, because I will not be with you and you will be defeated by your enemies.’”

18 and see what the land is like, and whether the people who live in it are strong or weak, few or many,
19 and whether the land they live in is good or bad, and whether the cities they inhabit are like camps or fortified cities,
20 and whether the land is rich or poor, and whether or not there are forests in it. And be brave, and bring back some of the fruit of the land.” Now it was the time of year for the first ripe grapes.
21 The Spies’ Activities So they went up and investigated the land from the wilderness of Zin to Rehob, at Lebo Hamath.

7 Head out and resume your journey. Enter the Amorite hill country, and into all its neighboring areas, including the rift valley, the hill country, the foothills, the Negev, and the coastal plain– all of Canaan and Lebanon as far as the Great River, that is, the Euphrates.
8 Look! I have already given the land to you. Go, occupy the territory that I, the LORD, promised to give to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and to their descendants.”
23 And when he sent you from Kadesh-Barnea and told you,“Go up and possess the land I have given you,” you rebelled against the LORD your God and would neither believe nor obey him.
7 They said to the whole community of the Israelites,“The land we passed through to investigate is an exceedingly good land.
26 The Spies’ Reports They came back to Moses and Aaron and to the whole community of the Israelites in the wilderness of Paran at Kadesh. They reported to the whole community and showed the fruit of the land.
27 They told Moses,“We went to the land where you sent us. It is indeed flowing with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.
11 Our leaders and all who live in our land told us,‘Take provisions for your journey and go meet them. Tell them,“We are willing to be your subjects. Make a treaty with us.”’
11 Then he said to me,“Get up, set out leading the people so they may go and possess the land I promised to give to their ancestors.”
9 They said,“Come on, let’s attack them, for we saw their land and it is very good. You seem lethargic, but don’t hesitate to invade and conquer the land.
10 When you invade, you will encounter unsuspecting people. The land is wide! God is handing it over to you– a place that lacks nothing on earth!”
16 They told Joshua,“We will do everything you say. We will go wherever you send us.
12 Now select for yourselves twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one per tribe.
12 “No,” he insisted,“but you have come to see if our land is vulnerable.”
8 When the men started out, Joshua told those going to map out the land,“Go, walk through the land, map it out, and return to me. Then I will draw lots for you before the LORD here in Shiloh.”
9 The men journeyed through the land and mapped it and its cities out into seven regions on a scroll. Then they came to Joshua at the camp in Shiloh.
