13So the LORD’s anger was kindled against the Israelites, and he made them wander in the wilderness for forty years, until all that generation that had done wickedly before the LORD was finished.
22For all the people have seen my glory and my signs that I did in Egypt and in the wilderness, and yet have tempted me now these ten times, and have not obeyed me,
23they will by no means see the land that I swore to their fathers, nor will any of them who despised me see it.
29Your dead bodies will fall in this wilderness– all those of you who were numbered, according to your full number, from twenty years old and upward, who have murmured against me.
30You will by no means enter into the land where I swore to settle you. The only exceptions are Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.
31But I will bring in your little ones, whom you said would become victims of war, and they will enjoy the land that you have despised.
36The exception is Caleb son of Jephunneh; he will see it and I will give him and his descendants the territory on which he has walked, because he has wholeheartedly followed me.”
37As for me, the LORD was also angry with me on your account. He said,“You also will not be able to go there.
34Judgment at Kadesh Barnea When the LORD heard you, he became angry and made this vow:
65For the LORD had said of them,“They will surely die in the wilderness.” And there was not left a single man of them, except Caleb son of Jephunneh and Joshua son of Nun.
21But the LORD became angry with me because of you and vowed that I would never cross the Jordan nor enter the good land that he is about to give you.
22So I must die here in this land; I will not cross the Jordan. But you are going over and will possess that good land.
6Indeed, for forty years the Israelites traveled through the wilderness until all the men old enough to fight when they left Egypt, the ones who had disobeyed the LORD, died off. For the LORD had sworn a solemn oath to them that he would not let them see the land he had sworn by oath to their ancestors to give them, a land rich in milk and honey.
8Look! I have already given the land to you. Go, occupy the territory that I, the LORD, promised to give to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and to their descendants.”
33and your children will wander in the wilderness forty years and suffer for your unfaithfulness, until your dead bodies lie finished in the wilderness.
34According to the number of the days you have investigated this land, forty days– one day for a year– you will suffer for your iniquities, forty years, and you will know what it means to thwart me.
35I, the LORD, have said,“I will surely do so to all this evil congregation that has gathered together against me. In this wilderness they will be finished, and there they will die!”’”
36The men whom Moses sent to investigate the land, who returned and made the whole community murmur against him by producing an evil report about the land,
37those men who produced the evil report about the land, died by the plague before the LORD.
52You will see the land before you, but you will not enter the land that I am giving to the Israelites.”
4Then the LORD said to him,“This is the land I promised to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob when I said,‘I will give it to your descendants.’ I have let you see it, but you will not cross over there.”
6Be strong and brave! You must lead these people in the conquest of this land that I solemnly promised their ancestors I would hand over to them.
39Also, your infants, who you thought would die on the way, and your children, who as yet do not know good from bad, will go there; I will give them the land and they will possess it.
14Now the length of time it took for us to go from Kadesh Barnea to the crossing of Wadi Zered was thirty-eight years, time for all the military men of that generation to die, just as the LORD had vowed to them.
16‘Because the LORD was not able to bring this people into the land that he swore to them, he killed them in the wilderness.’
9That day Moses made this solemn promise:‘Surely the land on which you walked will belong to you and your descendants permanently, for you remained loyal to the LORD your God.’
11Then he said to me,“Get up, set out leading the people so they may go and possess the land I promised to give to their ancestors.”

15I also swore to them in the wilderness that I would not bring them to the land I had given them– a land flowing with milk and honey, the most beautiful of all lands.

18I declare to you this very day that you will certainly perish! You will not extend your time in the land you are crossing the Jordan to possess.

9and that you may enjoy long life in the land the LORD promised to give to your ancestors and their descendants, a land flowing with milk and honey.
7They said to the whole community of the Israelites,“The land we passed through to investigate is an exceedingly good land.
5It is not because of your righteousness, or even your inner uprightness, that you have come here to possess their land. Instead, because of the wickedness of these nations the LORD your God is driving them out ahead of you in order to confirm the promise he made on oath to your ancestors, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
26But the LORD was angry at me because of you and would not listen to me. Instead, he said to me,“Enough of that! Do not speak to me anymore about this matter.
17And against whom was God provoked for forty years? Was it not those who sinned, whose dead bodies fell in the wilderness?
11saying,“To you I will give the land of Canaan as the portion of your inheritance.”
17Then the anger of the LORD will erupt against you and he will close up the sky so that it does not rain. The land will not yield its produce, and you will soon be removed from the good land that the LORD is about to give you.
