    6I heard someone speaking to me from the temple, while the man was standing beside me.

    7He said to me:“Son of man, this is the place of my throne and the place for the soles of my feet, where I will live among the people of Israel forever.     27When I have brought them back from the peoples and gathered them from the countries of their enemies, I will magnify myself among them in the sight of many nations.

    17“Son of man, when the house of Israel was living on their own land, they defiled it by their behavior and their deeds. In my sight their behavior was like the uncleanness of a woman having her monthly period.

  • 7If you stop doing these things, I will allow you to continue to live in this land which I gave to your ancestors as a lasting possession.

  • 20then I will remove you from my land I have given you, I will abandon this temple I have consecrated with my presence, and I will make you an object of mockery and ridicule among all the nations.

  • 16Now I have chosen and consecrated this temple by making it my permanent home; I will be constantly present there.

They will realize how I was crushed by their unfaithful heart which turned from me and by their eyes which lusted after their idols. They will loathe themselves because of the evil they have done and because of all their abominable practices.

  • 36The LORD said to me:“Son of man, are you willing to pronounce judgment on Oholah and Oholibah? Then declare to them their abominable deeds!

  • 30“Therefore say to the house of Israel,‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Will you defile yourselves like your fathers and engage in prostitution with detestable idols?

  • 34They set up their disgusting idols in the temple which I have claimed for my own and defiled it.

  • 9I will do to you what I have never done before and will never do again because of all your abominable practices.

  • 9You wrongly evict widows among my people from their cherished homes. You defraud their children of their prized inheritance.

  • 27So I will put an end to your obscene conduct and your prostitution which you have practiced in the land of Egypt. You will not seek their help or remember Egypt anymore.
