4Joseph said to his brothers,“Come closer to me,” so they came near. Then he said,“I am Joseph your brother, whom you sold into Egypt.
5Now, do not be upset and do not be angry with yourselves because you sold me here, for God sent me ahead of you to preserve life!
6For these past two years there has been famine in the land and for five more years there will be neither plowing nor harvesting.
19But Joseph answered them,“Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God?
20As for you, you meant to harm me, but God intended it for a good purpose, so he could preserve the lives of many people, as you can see this day.
21So now, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your little children.” Then he consoled them and spoke kindly to them.

28Jacob sent Judah before him to Joseph to accompany him to Goshen. So they came to the land of Goshen.
14May the Sovereign God grant you mercy before the man so that he may release your other brother and Benjamin! As for me, if I lose my children I lose them.”
36This food should be held in storage for the land in preparation for the seven years of famine that will occur throughout the land of Egypt. In this way the land will survive the famine.”
39So Pharaoh said to Joseph,“Because God has enabled you to know all this, there is no one as wise and discerning as you are!
25They replied,“You have saved our lives! You are showing us favor, and we will be Pharaoh’s slaves.”

6The land of Egypt is before you; settle your father and your brothers in the best region of the land. They may live in the land of Goshen. If you know of any highly capable men among them, put them in charge of my livestock.”
7Then Joseph brought in his father Jacob and presented him before Pharaoh. Jacob blessed Pharaoh.
2He then said,“Look, I hear that there is grain in Egypt. Go down there and buy grain for us so that we may live and not die.”
31Then Joseph said to his brothers and his father’s household,“I will go up and tell Pharaoh,‘My brothers and my father’s household who were in the land of Canaan have come to me.
12So when Jacob heard that there was grain in Egypt, he sent our ancestors there the first time.

41“See here,” Pharaoh said to Joseph,“I place you in authority over all the land of Egypt.”
5From the time Potiphar appointed him over his household and over all that he owned, the LORD blessed the Egyptian’s household for Joseph’s sake. The blessing of the LORD was on everything that he had, both in his house and in his fields.
15You will be tested in this way: As surely as Pharaoh lives, you will not depart from this place unless your youngest brother comes here.

15for I really was kidnapped from the land of the Hebrews and I have done nothing wrong here for which they should put me in a dungeon.”
21Then Israel said to Joseph,“I am about to die, but God will be with you and will bring you back to the land of your fathers.
