9you whom I am bringing back from the earth’s extremities, and have summoned from the remote regions– I told you,“You are my servant.” I have chosen you and not rejected you.
6I, the LORD, say:‘You people have deserted me! You keep turning your back on me.’ So I have unleashed my power against you and have begun to destroy you. I have grown tired of feeling sorry for you!”
3He said to me,“You are my servant, Israel, through whom I will reveal my splendor.”
7No one invokes your name, or makes an effort to take hold of you. For you have rejected us and handed us over to our own sins.
2Israel cries out to me,“My God, we acknowledge you!”

20But, you have been unfaithful to me, nation of Israel, like an unfaithful wife who has left her husband,” says the LORD.
24However, because I called but you refused to listen, because I stretched out my hand but no one was paying attention,

29“Why do you try to refute me? All of you have rebelled against me,” says the LORD.
13You also do this: You cover the altar of the LORD with tears as you weep and groan, because he no longer pays any attention to the offering nor accepts it favorably from you.
8You have not kept charge of my holy things, but you have assigned foreigners to keep charge of my sanctuary for you.
12In the past he said to them,“This is where security can be found. Provide security for the one who is exhausted! This is where rest can be found.” But they refused to listen.
6Is this how you repay the LORD, you foolish, unwise people? Is he not your father, your Creator? He has made you and established you.
