They say,“Perhaps he can be enticed into slipping up, so we can prevail over him and get our revenge on him.
11But the LORD is with me to help me like an awe-inspiring warrior. Therefore those who persecute me will fail and will not prevail over me. They will be thoroughly disgraced because they did not succeed. Their disgrace will never be forgotten.
24Therefore, the Sovereign LORD of Heaven’s Armies, the Powerful One of Israel, says this:“Ah, I will seek vengeance against my adversaries, I will take revenge against my enemies.
5I will never declare that you three are in the right; until I die, I will not set aside my integrity!
6I will maintain my righteousness and never let it go; my conscience will not reproach me for as long as I live.
7The Condition of the Wicked“May my enemy be like the wicked, my adversary like the unrighteous.
12Indeed, it is not an enemy who insults me, or else I could bear it; it is not one who hates me who arrogantly taunts me, or else I could hide from him.
10Is it not fierce when it is awakened? Who is he, then, who can stand before it?
2“Will the one who contends with the Almighty correct him? Let the person who accuses God give him an answer!”
