James 4:14
You do not know about tomorrow. What is your life like? For you are a puff of smoke that appears for a short time and then vanishes.

13 Come now, you who say,“Today or tomorrow we will go into this or that town and spend a year there and do business and make a profit.”
15 You ought to say instead,“If the Lord is willing, then we will live and do this or that.”
4 People are like a vapor, their days like a shadow that disappears.
1 Do not boast about tomorrow; for you do not know what a day may bring forth.
11 The more one argues with words, the less he accomplishes. How does that benefit him?
12 For no one knows what is best for a person during his life– during the few days of his fleeting life– for they pass away like a shadow. Nor can anyone tell him what the future will hold for him on earth.
10 But the rich person’s pride should be in his humiliation, because he will pass away like a wildflower in the meadow.
11 For the sun rises with its heat and dries up the meadow; the petal of the flower falls off and its beauty is lost forever. So also the rich person in the midst of his pursuits will wither away.
7 Surely no one knows the future, and no one can tell another person what will happen.
15 A person’s life is like grass. Like a flower in the field it flourishes,
16 but when the hot wind blows by, it disappears, and one can no longer even spot the place where it once grew.
1 The Brevity of Life“Man, born of woman, lives but a few days, and they are full of trouble.
2 He grows up like a flower and then withers away; he flees like a shadow, and does not remain.
9 For we were born yesterday and do not have knowledge, since our days on earth are but a shadow.
24 For all flesh is like grass and all its glory like the flower of the grass; the grass withers and the flower falls off,
4 “O LORD, help me understand my mortality and the brevity of life! Let me realize how quickly my life will pass!
5 Look, you make my days short-lived, and my life span is nothing from your perspective. Surely all people, even those who seem secure, are nothing but vapor.(Selah)
6 Surely people go through life as mere ghosts. Surely they accumulate worthless wealth without knowing who will eventually haul it away.”
10 But man dies and is powerless; he expires– and where is he?
34 So then, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.
25 Do Not Worry“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t there more to life than food and more to the body than clothing?
4 Their life’s breath departs, they return to the ground; on that day their plans die.
22 Stop trusting in human beings, whose life’s breath is in their nostrils. For why should they be given special consideration?
6 in the morning it glistens and sprouts up; at evening time it withers and dries up.
28 And if this is how God clothes the wild grass, which is here today and tomorrow is tossed into the fire to heat the oven, how much more will he clothe you, you people of little faith!
29 So do not be overly concerned about what you will eat and what you will drink, and do not worry about such things.
33 Watch out! Stay alert! For you do not know when the time will come.
4 He who watches the wind will not sow, and he who observes the clouds will not reap.
5 Just as you do not know the path of the wind, or how the bones form in the womb of a pregnant woman, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything.
6 Sow your seed in the morning, and do not stop working until the evening; for you do not know which activity will succeed– whether this one or that one, or whether both will prosper equally.
15 all flesh would perish together and human beings would return to dust.
18 because we are not looking at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen. For what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.
14 Certainly we must die, and are like water spilled on the ground that cannot be gathered up again. But God does not take away life; instead he devises ways for the banished to be restored.
24 The steps of a person are ordained by the LORD– so how can anyone understand his own way?
15 For we are resident foreigners and temporary settlers in your presence, like all our ancestors; our days are like a shadow on the earth, without security.
47 Take note of my brief lifespan! Why do you make all people so mortal?
30 And if this is how God clothes the wild grass, which is here today and tomorrow is tossed into the fire to heat the oven, won’t he clothe you even more, you people of little faith?
31 So then, don’t worry saying,‘What will we eat?’ or‘What will we drink?’ or‘What will we wear?’
22 Exhortation Not to Worry Then Jesus said to his disciples,“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear.
23 For there is more to life than food, and more to the body than clothing.
26 For what does it benefit a person if he gains the whole world but forfeits his life? Or what can a person give in exchange for his life?
20 Both go to the same place, both come from the dust, and to dust both return.
15 Just as he came forth from his mother’s womb, naked will he return as he came, and he will take nothing in his hand that he may carry away from his toil.
7 and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the life’s breath returns to God who gave it.
12 While they are still beginning to flower and not ripe for cutting, they can wither away faster than any grass!
13 Therefore stay alert, because you do not know the day or the hour.
7 The grass dries up, the flowers wither, when the wind sent by the LORD blows on them. Surely humanity is like grass.
15 Then he said to them,“Watch out and guard yourself from all types of greed, because one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.”
20 They are destroyed between morning and evening; they perish forever without anyone regarding it.
66 Your life will hang in doubt before you; you will be terrified by night and day and will have no certainty of surviving from one day to the next.
