He will roar mightily against his land. He will shout in triumph like those stomping juice from the grapes against all those who live on the earth.
31The sounds of battle will resound to the ends of the earth. For the LORD will bring charges against the nations. He will pass judgment on all humankind and will hand the wicked over to be killed in war.’ The LORD so affirms it!
32The LORD of Heaven’s Armies says,‘Disaster will soon come on one nation after another. A mighty storm of military destruction is rising up from the distant parts of the earth.’
21So listen to this, oppressed one, who is drunk, but not from wine!
22This is what your Sovereign LORD, even your God who judges his people says:“Look, I have removed from your hand the cup of intoxicating wine, the goblet full of my anger. You will no longer have to drink it.
8For the LORD holds in his hand a cup full of foaming wine mixed with spices, and pours it out. Surely all the wicked of the earth will slurp it up and drink it to its very last drop.”

14For many nations and great kings will make slaves of the king of Babylon and his nation too. I will repay them for all they have done!’”
12“So tell them,‘The LORD, the God of Israel, says,“Every wine jar is made to be filled with wine.”’ And they will probably say to you,‘Do you not think we know that every wine jar is supposed to be filled with wine?’
13Then tell them,‘The LORD says,“I will soon fill all the people who live in this land with stupor. I will also fill the kings from David’s dynasty, the priests, the prophets, and the citizens of Jerusalem with stupor.
15So then, listen to what I, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, say.‘I will make these people eat the bitter food of suffering and drink the poison water of judgment.
16I will scatter them among nations that neither they nor their ancestors have known anything about. I will send people chasing after them with swords until I have destroyed them.’”

33You will be overcome by drunkenness and sorrow. The cup of your sister Samaria is a cup of horror and desolation.
34You will drain it dry, gnaw its pieces, and tear out your breasts, for I have spoken, declares the Sovereign LORD.
15With furious anger I will carry out vengeance on the nations that do not obey me.”
16For just as you have drunk on my holy mountain, so all the nations will drink continually. They will drink, and they will gulp down; they will be as though they had never been.
9So I, the LORD, affirm that I will send for all the peoples of the north and my servant, King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants and all the nations that surround it. I will utterly destroy this land, its inhabitants, and all the nations that surround it and make them everlasting ruins. I will make them objects of horror and hissing scorn.
15“Woe to you who force your neighbor to drink wine– you who make others intoxicated by forcing them to drink from the bowl of your furious anger, so you can look at their naked bodies.
2If they ask you,‘Where should we go?’ tell them the LORD says this:“Those who are destined to die of disease will go to death by disease. Those who are destined to die in war will go to death in war. Those who are destined to die of starvation will go to death by starvation. Those who are destined to go into exile will go into exile.”
12But the time is coming when I will send men against Moab who will empty it out. They will empty the towns of their people, then will lay those towns in ruins. I, the LORD, affirm it!
31I will pour out my anger on you; the fire of my fury I will blow on you. I will hand you over to brutal men, who are skilled in destruction.
15The LORD says,“Listen, nation of Israel! I am about to bring a nation from far away to attack you. It will be a nation that was founded long ago and has lasted for a long time. It will be a nation whose language you will not know. Its people will speak words that you will not be able to understand.
10The LORD continued,“Now break the jar in front of those who have come here with you.
8But suppose a nation or a kingdom will not be subject to King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. Suppose it will not submit to the yoke of servitude to him. I, the LORD, affirm that I will punish that nation. I will use the king of Babylon to punish it with war, starvation, and disease until I have destroyed it.
17The LORD’s message came to me:
15Shout the battle cry from all around the city. She will throw up her hands in surrender. Her towers will fall. Her walls will be torn down. Because I, the LORD, am wreaking revenge, take out your vengeance on her! Do to her as she has done!
18I will chase after them with war, starvation, and disease. I will make all the kingdoms of the earth horrified at what happens to them. I will make them examples of those who are cursed, objects of horror, hissing scorn, and ridicule among all the nations where I exile them.
5Then I set cups and pitchers full of wine in front of the members of the Rechabite community and said to them,“Have some wine.”
16“This is what the LORD has said:‘I am about to bring disaster on this place and its residents, all the things in the scroll which the king of Judah has read.
9I will bring such disaster on them that all the kingdoms of the earth will be horrified. I will make them an object of reproach, a proverbial example of disaster. I will make them an object of ridicule, an example to be used in curses. That is how they will be remembered wherever I banish them.
8Therefore you must wait patiently for me,” says the LORD,“for the day when I attack and take plunder. I have decided to gather nations together and assemble kingdoms, so I can pour out my fury on them– all my raging anger. For the whole earth will be consumed by my fiery anger.
11This whole area will become a desolate wasteland. These nations will be subject to the king of Babylon for seventy years.’
15“The LORD of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel says,‘I will soon bring on this city and all the towns surrounding it all the disaster I threatened to do to it. I will do so because they have stubbornly refused to pay any attention to what I have said!’”
13I will give away your wealth and your treasures as plunder. I will give it away free of charge for the sins you have committed throughout your land.
5Wake up, you drunkards, and weep! Wail, all you wine drinkers, because the sweet wine has been taken away from you.
