15 Men were assigned to take the prisoners and find clothes among the plunder for those who were naked. So they clothed them, supplied them with sandals, gave them food and drink, and provided them with oil to rub on their skin. They put the ones who couldn’t walk on donkeys. They brought them back to their brothers at Jericho, the city of date palm trees, and then returned to Samaria.
19 No city made peace with the Israelites(except the Hivites living in Gibeon); they had to conquer all of them,
39 Someone went out to the field to gather some herbs and found a wild vine. He picked some of its fruit, enough to fill up the fold of his robe. He came back, cut it up, and threw the slices into the stew pot, not knowing they were harmful.

24 They left and went up to the hill country, coming to the Eshcol Valley, which they scouted out.
3 So King Adoni-Zedek of Jerusalem sent this message to King Hoham of Hebron, King Piram of Jarmuth, King Japhia of Lachish, and King Debir of Eglon:
4 “Come to my aid so we can attack Gibeon, for it has made peace with Joshua and the Israelites.”
9 Joshua sent them away and they went to their hiding place west of Ai, between Bethel and Ai. Joshua spent that night with the army.
12 He took five thousand men and set an ambush west of the city between Bethel and Ai.
13 The army was in position– the main army north of the city and the rear guard west of the city. That night Joshua went into the middle of the valley.
15 They also attacked the tents of the herdsmen in charge of the livestock. They carried off many sheep and camels and then returned to Jerusalem.
