Then the manager said to himself,‘What should I do, since my master is taking my position away from me? I’m not strong enough to dig, and I’m too ashamed to beg.

    14Then after he had spent everything, a severe famine took place in that country, and he began to be in need.

    15So he went and worked for one of the citizens of that country, who sent him to his fields to feed pigs.

    16He was longing to eat the carob pods the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.

    17But when he came to his senses he said,‘How many of my father’s hired workers have food enough to spare, but here I am dying from hunger!

    11If then you haven’t been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will entrust you with the true riches?

    12And if you haven’t been trustworthy with someone else’s property, who will give you your own?

    13No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”

    48But if that evil slave should say to himself,‘My master is staying away a long time,’
