20 So they brought the boy to him. When the spirit saw him, it immediately threw the boy into a convulsion. He fell on the ground and rolled around, foaming at the mouth.
38 Then a man from the crowd cried out,“Teacher, I beg you to look at my son– he is my only child!
39 A spirit seizes him, and he suddenly screams; it throws him into convulsions and causes him to foam at the mouth. It hardly ever leaves him alone, torturing him severely.
40 I begged your disciples to cast it out, but they could not do so.”
41 Jesus answered,“You unbelieving and perverse generation! How much longer must I be with you and endure you? Bring your son here.”
42 As the boy was approaching, the demon threw him to the ground and shook him with convulsions. But Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.
14 The Disciples’ Failure to Heal When they came to the crowd, a man came to him, knelt before him,
15 and said,“Lord, have mercy on my son, because he has seizures and suffers terribly, for he often falls into the fire and into the water.
16 I brought him to your disciples, but they were not able to heal him.”

18 Then Jesus rebuked the demon and it came out of him, and the boy was healed from that moment.
19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said,“Why couldn’t we cast it out?”

27 As Jesus stepped ashore, a certain man from the town met him who was possessed by demons. For a long time this man had worn no clothes and had not lived in a house, but among the tombs.
28 When he saw Jesus, he cried out, fell down before him, and shouted with a loud voice,“Leave me alone, Jesus, Son of the Most High God! I beg you, do not torment me!”
29 For Jesus had started commanding the evil spirit to come out of the man.(For it had seized him many times, so he would be bound with chains and shackles and kept under guard. But he would break the restraints and be driven by the demon into deserted places.)
30 Jesus then asked him,“What is your name?” He said,“Legion,” because many demons had entered him.
3 He lived among the tombs, and no one could bind him anymore, not even with a chain.
4 For his hands and feet had often been bound with chains and shackles, but he had torn the chains apart and broken the shackles in pieces. No one was strong enough to subdue him.
5 Each night and every day among the tombs and in the mountains, he would cry out and cut himself with stones.
21 But we do not know how he is now able to see, nor do we know who caused him to see. Ask him, he is a mature adult. He will speak for himself.”
40 So Jesus stopped and ordered the beggar to be brought to him. When the man came near, Jesus asked him,
7 Then he cried out with a loud voice,“Leave me alone, Jesus, Son of the Most High God! I implore you by God– do not torment me!”
19 They asked the parents,“Is this your son, whom you say was born blind? Then how does he now see?”
