  • 11 The Punishment from God The LORD said to Moses,“How long will this people despise me, and how long will they not believe in me, in spite of the signs that I have done among them?

  • 40 How often they rebelled against him in the wilderness, and insulted him in the wastelands!

  • 7 He called the name of the place Massah and Meribah, because of the contending of the Israelites and because of their testing the LORD, saying,“Is the LORD among us or not?”

  • 6 But now we are dried up, and there is nothing at all before us except this manna!”

  • 4 Complaints about Food Now the mixed multitude who were among them craved more desirable foods, and so the Israelites wept again and said,“If only we had meat to eat!

  • 8 Moses said,“You will know this when the LORD gives you meat to eat in the evening and bread in the morning to satisfy you, because the LORD has heard your murmurings that you are murmuring against him. As for us, what are we? Your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD.”
