1Finally then, brothers, we beg and exhort you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, that you abound more and more.
2For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus.
18knowing that you were redeemed, not with corruptible things, with silver or gold, from the useless way of life handed down from your fathers,
14that we may no longer be children, tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;

4We know, brothers loved by God, that you are chosen,
10and have put on the new man, who is being renewed in knowledge after the image of his Creator,
21Tell me, you that desire to be under the law, don't you listen to the law?
10But you did follow my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, steadfastness,
6But now we have been discharged from the law, having died to that in which we were held; so that we serve in newness of the spirit, and not in oldness of the letter.
7You were running well! Who interfered with you that you should not obey the truth?
