  • Isa 19:1-9 : 1 The burden of Egypt. Behold, the LORD rides upon a swift cloud and shall come into Egypt. The idols of Egypt shall be moved at His presence, and the heart of Egypt shall melt in its midst. 2 I will set the Egyptians against the Egyptians, and they shall fight every one against his brother and every one against his neighbor; city against city, and kingdom against kingdom. 3 The spirit of Egypt shall fail in its midst; I will destroy its counsel, and they shall seek the idols, the charmers, those with familiar spirits, and the wizards. 4 I will give the Egyptians into the hand of a cruel lord, and a fierce king shall rule over them, says the Lord, the LORD of hosts. 5 The waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up. 6 They shall turn the rivers away; the brooks of defense shall be emptied and dried up; the reeds and rushes shall wither. 7 The paper reeds by the brooks, by the mouth of the brooks, and everything sown by the brooks, shall wither, be driven away, and be no more. 8 The fishermen also shall mourn, and all who cast hooks into the brooks shall lament, and those who spread nets upon the waters shall languish. 9 Moreover, those who work in fine flax and those who weave networks shall be confounded. 10 They shall be broken in their purposes, all who make sluices and ponds for fish. 11 Surely the princes of Zoan are fools; the counsel of the wise counselors of Pharaoh has become brutish. How can you say to Pharaoh, 'I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?' 12 Where are they? Where are your wise men? Let them tell you now, and let them know what the LORD of hosts has purposed against Egypt. 13 The princes of Zoan are become fools; the princes of Noph are deceived; they have also seduced Egypt, even they who are the foundation of its tribes. 14 The LORD has mingled a perverse spirit in its midst, and they have caused Egypt to err in every work, like a drunken man staggers in his vomit. 15 Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, branch or rush, may do.
  • Isa 34:1-9 : 1 Come near, O nations, to hear; and listen, O people: let the earth hear, and all that is in it; the world, and all things that come forth from it. 2 For the LORD's indignation is upon all nations, and His fury upon all their armies: He has utterly destroyed them, He has delivered them to the slaughter. 3 Their slain also shall be cast out, and their stench shall rise from their corpses, and the mountains shall be melted with their blood. 4 And all the host of heaven shall dissolve, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falls off the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree. 5 For my sword shall be bathed in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Edom, and upon the people of my curse, to judgment. 6 The sword of the LORD is filled with blood, it is made fat with fatness, and with the blood of lambs and goats, with the fat of the kidneys of rams: for the LORD has a sacrifice in Bozrah, and a great slaughter in the land of Edom. 7 And the wild oxen shall come down with them, and the young bulls with the mighty bulls; and their land shall be soaked with blood, and their dust made fat with fatness. 8 For it is the day of the LORD's vengeance, and the year of recompense for the controversy of Zion. 9 And its streams shall be turned into pitch, and its dust into brimstone, and its land shall become burning pitch. 10 It shall not be quenched night nor day; its smoke shall ascend forever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it forever and ever. 11 But the cormorant and the bittern shall possess it; the owl and the raven shall dwell in it: and He shall stretch out upon it the line of confusion, and the stones of emptiness. 12 They shall call its nobles to the kingdom, but none shall be there, and all its princes shall be nothing. 13 And thorns shall come up in its palaces, nettles and brambles in its fortresses: and it shall be a habitation for dragons, and a court for owls. 14 The wild beasts of the desert shall also meet with the wild beasts of the island, and the satyr shall cry to his fellow; the screech owl also shall rest there, and find for herself a place of rest. 15 There shall the great owl make her nest, and lay, and hatch, and gather under her shadow: there shall the vultures also be gathered, every one with her mate. 16 Seek out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall lack her mate: for my mouth has commanded, and His Spirit has gathered them. 17 And He has cast the lot for them, and His hand has divided it unto them by line: they shall possess it forever, from generation to generation they shall dwell therein.
  • Isa 63:1-6 : 1 Who is this that comes from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? This one who is glorious in his apparel, traveling in the greatness of his strength? It is I, who speak in righteousness, mighty to save. 2 Why are you red in your apparel, and your garments like one who treads in the winepress? 3 I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people, there was none with me: for I will tread them in my anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my clothing. 4 For the day of vengeance is in my heart, and the year of my redeemed has come. 5 And I looked, and there was no one to help; and I wondered that there was no one to uphold: therefore my own arm brought salvation for me; and my fury, it upheld me. 6 And I will tread down the people in my anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth.

  • Ezek 35:1-9 : 1 Moreover, the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 2 Son of man, set your face against Mount Seir, and prophesy against it, 3 And say to it, Thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, O Mount Seir, I am against you, and I will stretch out My hand against you, and I will make you most desolate. 4 I will lay your cities waste, and you shall be desolate, and you shall know that I am the LORD. 5 Because you have had a perpetual hatred, and have shed the blood of the children of Israel by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end: 6 Therefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD, I will prepare you for blood, and blood shall pursue you: since you have not hated blood, even blood shall pursue you. 7 Thus I will make Mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him who passes out and him who returns. 8 And I will fill its mountains with its slain men: in your hills, and in your valleys, and in all your rivers, shall they fall who are slain with the sword. 9 I will make you perpetual desolations, and your cities shall not return: and you shall know that I am the LORD. 10 Because you have said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas the LORD was there: 11 Therefore, as I live, says the Lord GOD, I will do according to your anger, and according to your envy which you have used out of your hatred against them; and I will make Myself known among them, when I have judged you. 12 And you shall know that I am the LORD, and that I have heard all your blasphemies which you have spoken against the mountains of Israel, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given to us to consume. 13 Thus with your mouth you have boasted against Me, and have multiplied your words against Me: I have heard them. 14 Thus says the Lord GOD: When the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate. 15 As you rejoiced at the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so will I do to you: you shall be desolate, O Mount Seir, and all Edom, all of it: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
