- 2 Sam 7:1-3 : 1 And it happened, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest around from all his enemies; 2 That the king said to Nathan the prophet, Look now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells within curtains. 3 And Nathan said to the king, Go, do all that is in your heart; for the LORD is with you.
- 1 Chr 13:1-3 : 1 And David consulted with the captains of thousands and hundreds, and with every leader. 2 And David said to all the congregation of Israel, If it seems good to you, and if it is of the LORD our God, let us send out to our brothers everywhere, who are left in all the land of Israel, and with them also to the priests and Levites who are in their cities and surrounding areas, that they may gather themselves to us: 3 And let us bring again the ark of our God to us: for we did not inquire of it in the days of Saul.
- 1 Chr 22:1-9 : 1 Then David said, This is the house of the LORD God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel. 2 And David commanded to gather together the foreigners who were in the land of Israel; and he appointed masons to cut hewn stones to build the house of God. 3 And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the fittings; and bronze in abundance beyond weight; 4 Also cedar trees in abundance, for the Sidonians and those of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David. 5 And David said, Solomon my son is young and inexperienced, and the house that is to be built for the LORD must be exceedingly magnificent, of fame and glory throughout all nations: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death. 6 Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build a house for the LORD God of Israel. 7 And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build a house unto the name of the LORD my God: 8 But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, You have shed much blood and have made great wars; you shall not build a house unto my name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in my sight. 9 Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him peace from all his enemies around: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days. 10 He shall build a house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever. 11 Now, my son, the LORD be with you; and prosper you, and build the house of the LORD your God, as he has said of you. 12 Only may the LORD give you wisdom and understanding, and give you charge concerning Israel, that you may keep the law of the LORD your God. 13 Then you shall prosper, if you take heed to fulfill the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; do not fear, nor be dismayed. 14 Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the LORD one hundred thousand talents of gold, and a million talents of silver; and of bronze and iron beyond weight, for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and you may add to them. 15 Moreover there are workmen with you in abundance, stone cutters and workers of stone and timber, and all kinds of skillful men for every kind of work. 16 Of the gold, the silver, and the bronze, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the LORD be with you. 17 David also commanded all the leaders of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying, 18 Is not the LORD your God with you? And has he not given you rest on every side? For he has given the inhabitants of the land into my hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD and before his people. 19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built for the name of the LORD.
- 1 Chr 28:2-29:17 : 2 Then King David stood up on his feet, and said, Hear me, my brothers, and my people: As for me, I had in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and for the footstool of our God, and had made preparations for the building: 3 But God said to me, You shall not build a house for my name, because you have been a man of war, and have shed blood. 4 However the LORD God of Israel chose me before all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever: for he has chosen Judah to be the ruler; and of the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he was pleased to make me king over all Israel: 5 And of all my sons, (for the LORD has given me many sons,) he has chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of the LORD over Israel. 6 And he said to me, Solomon your son, he shall build my house and my courts: for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father. 7 Moreover I will establish his kingdom forever, if he remains steadfast to obey my commandments and my judgments, as at this day. 8 Now therefore in the sight of all Israel, the congregation of the LORD, and in the hearing of our God, keep and seek for all the commandments of the LORD your God: that you may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance for your children after you forever. 9 And you, Solomon my son, know the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and a willing mind: for the LORD searches all hearts and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts: if you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever. 10 Take heed now; for the LORD has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary: be strong, and do it. 11 Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch, and of the buildings thereof, and of the treasuries thereof, and of the upper chambers thereof, and of the inner rooms thereof, and of the place of the mercy seat, 12 And the pattern of all that he had by the Spirit, of the courts of the house of the LORD, and of all the chambers round about, of the treasuries of the house of God, and of the treasuries of the dedicated things: 13 Also for the divisions of the priests and the Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of the LORD, and for all the articles of service in the house of the LORD. 14 He gave of gold by weight for things of gold, for all instruments of all kinds of service; silver also for all instruments of silver by weight, for all instruments of every kind of service: 15 Even the weight for the lampstands of gold, and for their lamps of gold, by weight for every lampstand, and for its lamps: and for the lampstands of silver by weight, both for the lampstand and also for its lamps, according to the use of every lampstand. 16 And by weight he gave gold for the tables of the showbread, for every table; and likewise silver for the tables of silver: 17 Also pure gold for the forks, bowls, and cups: and for the golden basins he gave gold by weight for every basin; and likewise silver by weight for every basin of silver: 18 And for the altar of incense refined gold by weight; and gold for the pattern of the chariot of the cherubim, that spread out their wings, and covered the ark of the covenant of the LORD. 19 All this, said David, the LORD made me understand in writing by his hand upon me, even all the works of this pattern. 20 And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with you; he will not fail you, nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD. 21 And, behold, the divisions of the priests and the Levites, even they shall be with you for all the service of the house of God: and there shall be with you for all manner of workmanship every willing skilful man, for any manner of service: also the leaders and all the people will be wholly at your command. 1 Furthermore, King David said to all the assembly, Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is still young and tender, and the work is great: for the palace is not for man, but for the LORD God. 2 Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for things to be made of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and the bronze for things of bronze, the iron for things of iron, and wood for things of wood; onyx stones, and stones to be set, glistening stones, and of various colors, and all kinds of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance. 3 Moreover, because I have set my affection to the house of my God, I have given of my own proper goods, of gold and silver, which I have given to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house, 4 Even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, to overlay the walls of the houses. 5 The gold for things of gold, and the silver for things of silver, and for all kinds of work to be made by the hands of craftsmen. And who then is willing to consecrate his service this day to the LORD? 6 Then the chief of the fathers, and leaders of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers of the king's work, offered willingly. 7 And they gave for the service of the house of God five thousand talents and ten thousand darics of gold, and ten thousand talents of silver, and eighteen thousand talents of brass, and one hundred thousand talents of iron. 8 And whoever had precious stones gave them to the treasury of the house of the LORD, by the hand of Jehiel the Gershonite. 9 Then the people rejoiced, because they offered willingly, for with a perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and King David also rejoiced with great joy. 10 Therefore David blessed the LORD before all the assembly: and David said, Blessed are You, LORD God of Israel our Father, forever and ever. 11 Yours, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and You are exalted as head above all. 12 Both riches and honor come from You, and You reign over all; in Your hand is power and might; in Your hand it is to make great, and to give strength to all. 13 Now therefore, our God, we thank You, and praise Your glorious name. 14 But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from You, and of Your own have we given You. 15 For we are strangers before You, and sojourners, as were all our fathers; our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no abiding. 16 O LORD our God, all this abundance that we have prepared to build You a house for Your holy name is from Your hand, and is all Your own. 17 I know also, my God, that You test the heart, and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things: and now I have seen with joy Your people, who are present here, to offer willingly to You.
- 2 Chr 1:9-9 : 9 Now, O LORD God, let your promise to David my father be established: for you have made me king over a people like the dust of the earth in multitude. 10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people: for who can judge this your people, that is so great?
- 2 Chr 15:8-9 : 8 And when Asa heard these words, and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage and removed the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from mount Ephraim, and renewed the altar of the LORD, that was before the porch of the LORD. 9 And he gathered all Judah and Benjamin, and the strangers with them out of Ephraim and Manasseh, and out of Simeon, for they joined him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that the LORD his God was with him. 10 So they gathered together at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Asa. 11 And they offered to the LORD at the same time, of the spoil which they had brought, seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep. 12 And they entered into a covenant to seek the LORD God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul; 13 That whoever would not seek the LORD God of Israel should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman. 14 And they swore to the LORD with a loud voice, and with shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets. 15 And all Judah rejoiced at the oath, for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought Him with their whole desire; and He was found by them: and the LORD gave them rest all around.
- 2 Chr 17:3-9 : 3 And the LORD was with Jehoshaphat, because he walked in the first ways of his father David, and did not seek after the Baal idols; 4 But sought the LORD God of his father, and walked in his commandments, and not after the practices of Israel. 5 Therefore the LORD established the kingdom in his hand; and all Judah brought Jehoshaphat presents; and he had riches and honor in abundance. 6 And his heart was uplifted in the ways of the LORD; moreover, he took away the high places and groves from Judah. 7 Also in the third year of his reign he sent his officials, Benhail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethaneel, and Michaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah. 8 And with them he sent Levites, Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah, and Tobadonijah, Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, priests. 9 And they taught in Judah, and had the book of the law of the LORD with them, and went throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught the people.
- 2 Chr 19:4-9 : 4 And Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem, and he went out again through the people from Beersheba to Mount Ephraim, and brought them back to the LORD God of their fathers. 5 And he appointed judges in the land throughout all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city, 6 And said to the judges, Take heed what you do, for you judge not for man but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment. 7 Therefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it, for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts. 8 Moreover, in Jerusalem, Jehoshaphat appointed some of the Levites, and of the priests, and of the chief of the fathers of Israel, for the judgment of the LORD and for controversies, when they returned to Jerusalem. 9 And he charged them, saying, This you shall do in the fear of the LORD, faithfully, and with a perfect heart. 10 And whatever cause shall come to you from your brethren that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and judgments, you shall even warn them that they do not trespass against the LORD, and so wrath come upon you and upon your brethren: this do, and you shall not trespass.
- 2 Chr 31:20-21 : 20 And so did Hezekiah throughout all Judah, and did what was good and right and true before the LORD his God. 21 And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.
- 2 Chr 33:15-16 : 15 And he removed the foreign gods and the idol from the house of the LORD, and all the altars he had built on the hill of the house of the LORD and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city. 16 And he repaired the altar of the LORD, sacrificed peace offerings and thank offerings on it, and commanded Judah to serve the LORD God of Israel.
- 2 Chr 34:1-9 : 1 Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem thirty-one years. 2 And he did what was right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the ways of David his father, and turned aside neither to the right hand nor to the left. 3 For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was still young, he began to seek after the God of David his father; and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, the groves, the carved images, and the molten images. 4 And they broke down the altars of Baalim in his presence; and the images, that were high above them, he cut down; and the groves, the carved images, and the molten images, he broke in pieces, and made dust of them, and scattered it upon the graves of those who had sacrificed to them. 5 And he burned the bones of the priests upon their altars, and cleansed Judah and Jerusalem. 6 And so he did in the cities of Manasseh, Ephraim, Simeon, even unto Naphtali, with their mattocks round about. 7 And when he had broken down the altars and the groves, and beaten the graven images into powder and cut down all the idols throughout all the land of Israel, he returned to Jerusalem. 8 Now in the eighteenth year of his reign, when he had purged the land and the house, he sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, and Maaseiah the governor of the city, and Joah the son of Joahaz the recorder, to repair the house of the LORD his God. 9 And when they came to Hilkiah the high priest, they delivered the money that was brought into the house of God, which the Levites that kept the doors had gathered from the hand of Manasseh, Ephraim, and all the remnant of Israel, and all Judah and Benjamin; and they returned to Jerusalem. 10 And they put it into the hand of the workmen who had the oversight of the house of the LORD, and they gave it to the workmen who worked in the house of the LORD, to repair and amend the house: 11 Even to the craftsmen and builders they gave it, to buy hewn stone, timber for couplings, and to floor the houses which the kings of Judah had destroyed. 12 And the men did the work faithfully: and the overseers of them were Jahath and Obadiah, the Levites, of the sons of Merari; and Zechariah and Meshullam, of the sons of the Kohathites, to set it forward; and other of the Levites, all who were skilled in instruments of music. 13 Also they were over the bearers of burdens, and were overseers of all that did work in any kind of service: and of the Levites there were scribes, and officers, and porters. 14 And when they brought out the money that was brought into the house of the LORD, Hilkiah the priest found a book of the law of the LORD given by Moses. 15 And Hilkiah answered and said to Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of the LORD. And Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan. 16 And Shaphan carried the book to the king, and brought the king word back again, saying, All that was committed to your servants, they do it. 17 And they have gathered together the money that was found in the house of the LORD, and have delivered it into the hand of the overseers and to the hand of the workmen. 18 Then Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest has given me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king. 19 And it happened, when the king had heard the words of the law, that he tore his clothes. 20 And the king commanded Hilkiah, Ahikam the son of Shaphan, Abdon the son of Micah, Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah a servant of the king's, saying, 21 Go, inquire of the LORD for me, and for those who are left in Israel and in Judah, concerning the words of the book that is found: for great is the wrath of the LORD that is poured out upon us, because our fathers have not kept the word of the LORD, to do according to all that is written in this book. 22 And Hilkiah, and those whom the king had appointed, went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvath, the son of Hasrah, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college:) and they spoke to her to that effect. 23 And she answered them, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, Tell the man that sent you to me, 24 Thus says the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place and upon the inhabitants of it, even all the curses that are written in the book which they have read before the king of Judah: 25 Because they have forsaken me and have burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be poured out upon this place, and shall not be quenched. 26 And as for the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of the LORD, so shall you say to him, Thus says the LORD God of Israel concerning the words which you have heard; 27 Because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before God, when you heard his words against this place and against the inhabitants of it, and humbled yourself before me, and tore your clothes, and wept before me; I have even heard you also, says the LORD. 28 Behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace, neither shall your eyes see all the evil that I will bring upon this place and upon the inhabitants of the same. So they brought the king word again. 29 Then the king sent and gathered together all the elders of Judah and Jerusalem. 30 And the king went up into the house of the LORD, with all the men of Judah, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the priests, the Levites, and all the people, great and small: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant that was found in the house of the LORD. 31 And the king stood in his place, and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD, and to keep his commandments, his testimonies, and his statutes, with all his heart and with all his soul, to perform the words of the covenant which are written in this book. 32 And he caused all that were present in Jerusalem and Benjamin to stand to it. And the inhabitants of Jerusalem did according to the covenant of God, the God of their fathers. 33 And Josiah took away all the abominations out of all the countries that pertained to the children of Israel, and made all that were present in Israel to serve, even to serve the LORD their God. And all his days they did not depart from following the LORD, the God of their fathers.
- Neh 5:14-19 : 14 Moreover, from the time that I was appointed to be their governor in the land of Judah, from the twentieth year to the thirty-second year of Artaxerxes the king, twelve years, neither I nor my brethren have eaten the governor's provisions. 15 But the former governors who were before me laid burdens on the people and took bread and wine from them, besides forty shekels of silver; yes, even their servants ruled over the people. But I did not do so, because of the fear of God. 16 Indeed, I also devoted myself to the work on this wall and did not buy any land. All my servants were gathered there for the work. 17 Moreover, there were at my table one hundred and fifty Jews and rulers, besides those who came to us from the nations around us. 18 Now that which was prepared for me daily was one ox and six choice sheep; also fowls were prepared for me, and once every ten days an abundance of all sorts of wine. Yet in spite of all this, I did not demand the governor's provisions, because the bondage was heavy on this people. 19 Remember me, my God, for good, according to all that I have done for this people.
- Isa 23:18 : 18 And her goods and her trade shall be holiness to the LORD: it shall not be treasured nor laid up; for her merchandise shall be for them that dwell before the LORD, to eat sufficiently, and for durable clothing.
- Isa 49:23 : 23 And kings shall be your nursing fathers, and their queens your nursing mothers: they shall bow down to you with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of your feet; and you shall know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed who wait for me.
- Isa 60:5-9 : 5 Then you shall see and become radiant, and your heart shall fear and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall turn to you, the wealth of the Gentiles shall come to you. 6 The multitude of camels shall cover you, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all those from Sheba shall come; they shall bring gold and incense, and they shall proclaim the praises of the LORD. 7 All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together to you, the rams of Nebaioth shall serve you; they shall come up with acceptance on My altar, and I will glorify the house of My glory. 8 Who are these who fly like a cloud, and like doves to their windows? 9 Surely the isles shall wait for Me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring your sons from afar, their silver and their gold with them, to the name of the LORD your God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because He has glorified you. 10 And the sons of foreigners shall build up your walls, and their kings shall minister to you; for in My wrath I struck you, but in My favor I have had mercy on you. 11 Therefore your gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day or night, that men may bring to you the wealth of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought. 12 For the nation and kingdom that will not serve you shall perish, yes, those nations shall be utterly wasted. 13 The glory of Lebanon shall come to you, the cypress, the pine, and the box tree together, to beautify the place of My sanctuary; and I will make the place of My feet glorious. 14 Also the sons of those who afflicted you shall come bending to you; and all those who despised you shall fall prostrate at the soles of your feet, and they shall call you, The City of the LORD, Zion of the Holy One of Israel. 15 Whereas you have been forsaken and hated, so that no one went through you, I will make you an eternal excellence, a joy of many generations. 16 You shall also drink the milk of the Gentiles, and shall nurse at the breast of kings; and you shall know that I, the LORD, am your Savior and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

- 1 Cor 9:16-23 : 16 For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me if I do not preach the gospel! 17 For if I do this willingly, I have a reward; but if against my will, I have been entrusted with a stewardship. 18 What then is my reward? That when I preach the gospel, I may present the gospel of Christ without charge, that I may not abuse my authority in the gospel. 19 For though I am free from all men, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win the more. 20 And to the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might win the Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might win those who are under the law; 21 To those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law. 22 To the weak I became as weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that I might by all means save some. 23 And this I do for the sake of the gospel, that I may be a partaker of it with you.
- 1 Cor 15:10 : 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
- 1 Tim 6:17-18 : 17 Charge those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy; 18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share;
- 2 Tim 2:6 : 6 The hardworking farmer must be first to partake of the crops.
- 2 Tim 4:5-8 : 5 But be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. 6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith: 8 Finally there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that day; and not only to me but also to all who have loved His appearing.
- Phlm 1:6-7 : 6 That the sharing of your faith may become effective by the acknowledgment of every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus. 7 For we have great joy and solace in your love, because the hearts of the saints are refreshed by you, brother.
- 3 John 1:5-8 : 5 Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you do for the brethren and for strangers; 6 They have borne witness of your charity before the church: whom if you bring forward on their journey in a godly manner, you will do well: 7 Because for His name's sake they went forth, taking nothing from the Gentiles. 8 We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellow helpers of the truth.
