På den tid så jeg lange tau bli gitt til de englene som tok til vingene og fløy nordover.

In those days I beheld long ropes given to those angels; who took to their wings, and fled, advancing towards the north.

Og jeg spurte engelen og sa: Hvorfor har de tatt disse lange tauene og dratt bort? Han svarte: De er dra til å måle.

And I inquired of the angel, saying, Wherefore have they taken those long ropes, and gone forth? He said, They are gone forth to measure.

Engelen som fulgte meg, sa: Dette er målene for de rettferdige; og smerter skal de rettferdige bringe, så de kan stole på navnet til Åndenes Herre for alltid og alltid.

The angel, who proceeded with me, said, These are the measures of the righteous; and cords shall the righteous bring, that they may trust in the name of the Lord of spirits for ever and ever.

De utvalgte skal begynne å bo sammen med de utvalgte.

The elect shall begin to dwell with the elect.

Og disse er målene som skal gis til troen, og som skal styrke ordene om rettferdighet.

And these are the measures which shall be given to faith, and which shall strengthen the words of righteousness.

Disse målene skal avsløre alle hemmeligheter i jordens dyp.

These measures shall reveal all the secrets in the depth of the earth.

Og det skal skje at de som er blitt ødelagt i ørkenen, og som har blitt fortært av havets fisker og av villdyr, skal vende tilbake og stole på dagen til den Utvalgte; for ingen skal gå tapt i nærvær av Åndenes Herre, heller ikke skal noen kunne gå tapt.

And it shall be, that those who have been destroyed in the desert, and who have been devoured by the fish of the sea, and by wild beasts, shall return, and trust in the day of the Elect One; for none shall perish in the presence of the Lord of spirits, nor shall any be capable of perishing.

Da fikk de befaling, alle som var i himmelen over; til dem ble det gitt en samlet makt, stemme og herlighet, lik ild.

Then they received the commandment, all who were in the heavens above; to whom a combined power, voice, and splendour, like fire, were given.

Og først, med stemmen sin, velsignet de ham, de hevet ham opp, de glorifiserte ham med visdom, og tilskrev ham visdom med ordet og med livets ånd.

And first, with their voice, they blessed him, they exalted him, they glorified him with wisdom, and ascribed to him wisdom with the word, and with the breath of life.

Så satte Åndenes Herre den Utvalgte på sin herlighets trone;

Then the Lord of spirits seated upon the throne of his glory the Elect One;

Han som skal dømme alle de helliges gjerninger, i himmelen over, og i en vekt skal han veie deres handlinger. Og når han løfter sitt ansikt for å dømme deres hemmelige veier i ordet til Åndenes Herre, og deres fremskritt i den rettferdige dommen til Gud, den Høyeste;

Who shall judge all the works of the holy, in heaven above, and in a balance shall he weigh their actions. And when he shall lift up his countenance to judge their secret ways in the word of the name of the Lord of spirits, and their progress in the path of the righteous judgment of God most high;

Skal de alle tale med samlet stemme; og velsigne, glorifisere, heve opp og prise, i navnet til Åndenes Herre.

They shall all speak with united voice; and bless, glorify, exalt, and praise, in the name of the Lord of spirits.

Han skal kalle til hver makt i himlene, til alle de hellige ovenfor, og til Guds makt. Kerubene, Serafene, og Ofanene, alle maktens engler, og alle englene til Herrene, nemlig til den Utvalgte, og til den andre Makten, som var på jorden over vannet den dagen,

He shall call to every power of the heavens, to all the holy above, and to the power of God. The Cherubim, the Seraphim, and the Ophanin, all the angels of power, and all the angels of the Lords, namely, of the Elect One, and of the other Power, who was upon earth over the water on that day,

Skal heve sin samlede stemme; skal velsigne, glorifisere, prise og heve opp med troens ånd, med visdoms og tålmodighets ånd, med barmhjertighetens ånd, med dommens og fredens ånd, og med velviljens ånd; alle skal si med samlet stemme: Velsignet er Han; og navnet til Åndenes Herre skal bli velsignet for alltid og alltid; alle som ikke sover, skal velsigne det i himmelen over.

Shall raise their united voice; shall bless, glorify, praise, and exalt with the spirit of faith, with the spirit of wisdom and patience, with the spirit of mercy, with the spirit of judgment and peace, and with the spirit of benevolence; all shall say with united voice: Blessed is He; and the name of the Lord of spirits shall be blessed for ever and for ever; all, who sleep not, shall bless it in heaven above.

Alle de hellige i himmelen skal velsigne det; alle de utvalgte som bor i livets hage; og hver lysånd, som er i stand til å velsigne, glorifisere, heve opp og prise ditt hellige navn; og hver dødelig mann, mer enn himmelens makter, skal glorifisere og velsigne ditt navn for alltid og alltid.

All the holy in heaven shall bless it; all the elect who dwell in the garden of life; and every spirit of light, who is capable of blessing, glorifying, exalting, and praising thy holy name; and every mortal man, more than the powers of heaven, shall glorify and bless thy name for ever and ever.

For stor er barmhjertigheten til Åndenes Herre; langmodig er han; og alle hans gjerninger, all hans makt, stor som de ting han har gjort, har han åpenbart for de hellige og for de utvalgte, i navnet til Åndenes Herre.

For great is the mercy of the Lord of spirits; long-suffering is he; and all his works, all his power, great as are the things which he has done, has he revealed to the saints and to the elect, in the name of the Lord of spirits.
