    6ይህ በመካከላችሁ ምልክት ይሆን ዘንድ፤ በወደፊት ጊዜ ልጆቻችሁ “እነዚህ ድንጋዮች ምን ማለት ናቸው?” ብለው አባቶቻቸውን ሲጠይቁ፣

    7በዚያን ጊዜ እንዲህ ብላቸው ትመልሳላችሁ፦ የዮርዳኖስ ውኃዎች በጌታ የኪዳኑ ታቦት ፊት ተቆረጡ፤ ታቦቱ ዮርዳኖስን ሲሻገር የዮርዳኖስ ውኃዎች ተቆረጡ። እነዚህ ድንጋዮችም ለእስራኤል ልጆች ለዘላለም የመታሰቢያ ይሆናሉ።

    20ከዮርዳኖስ ያወጧቸውን እነዚያን አሥራ ሁለት ድንጋዮች ዮሴዋ በጊልጋል አቆመ።

    21እስራኤል ልጆችንም እንዲህ አላቸው፦ በወደፊት ዘመን ልጆቻችሁ “እነዚህ ድንጋዮች ምን ማለት ናቸው?” ብለው ሲጠይቁ፣

    22ከዚያም “እስራኤል ይህን ዮርዳኖስ በደረቅ ምድር ላይ ተሻግሯል” ብላችሁ ለልጆቻችሁ አሳውቁአቸው።

    23ምክንያቱም እግዚአብሔር አምላካችሁ እስክትሻገሩ ድረስ የዮርዳኖስን ውኃዎች ከፊታችሁ አደረቀ፤ እንዲሁም እግዚአብሔር አምላካችሁ ለእኛ በቀይ ባሕር እንዳደረገው፣ እስክንሻገር ድረስ ከፊታችን አደረቀው።

    14ሕዝቡ ከድንኳኖቻቸው ተነሥተው ዮርዳኖስን ለመሻገር ሲጀምሩ የኪዳኑን ታቦት የሚሸከሙት ካህናት በሕዝቡ ፊት ፊት ሄዱ.

    15የታቦቱን የሚሸከሙ ወደ ዮርዳኖስ ሲደርሱ እና ካህናቱ እግሮቻቸው የውሃውን ጠርዝ ሲነካ— (ዮርዳኖስ ግን በመከር ወቅት ሁሉ ዳርቻዎቹን ሁሉ ይጥላል) —

    16ከላይ የሚወርዱት ውሃ ቆመና ርቀው ባለችው በዛሬታን አጠገብ ያለችው አዳም ከተማ አቅራቢያ እንደ ክምችት ከፍ ከፍ ሆነ ተሰብስቦ ቆመ፤ ወደ ሜዳው ባሕር፣ ያም ጨው ባሕር የሚወርዱት ውሃ ግን በሙሉ ተቋረጠ፤ ሕዝቡም በኢሪኮ በፊት በቀጥታ ተሻገረ.
