    13እንዲህም አለ ለባሪያው፦ ና፣ ከእነዚህ ስፍራዎች አንዱ ወደ ጊበዓ ወይም ወደ ራማ ቀርበን ሌሊትን እናድር።

    14መንገዳቸውን ቀጥለው ሄዱ፤ በብንያም የሆነችው ጊበዓ አጠገብ ሳሉ ፀሐይ ላቸው ዐፈረች።

    15ወደዚያ ዘወር በሉ ወደ ጊበዓ ገቡ ሌሊትን እንዲያድሩ፤ በመግባታቸውም የከተማይቱ መንገድ ላይ ተቀመጡ፤ ሊያስቀመጣቸው ወደ ቤቱ የሚያግባቸው ሰው ስለሌለ ነበር።

    16እነሆም በመሸምለሉ ጊዜ ከመስክ ከሥራው የመጣ አንድ ሽማግሌ መጣ፤ እርሱም ደግሞ ከኤፍሬም ተራራ ነበር ጊበዓ ውስጥ እንግዳ ይኖር ነበር፤ የከተማይቱ ሰዎች ግን የብንያም ወገኖች ነበሩ።

    17ዓይኑን ከፍ ብሎ በመንገድ ላይ የሚጓዝ ሰው አየ፤ ሽማግሌውም፦ ወዴት ትሄዳለህ? ከየት ትመጣ? አለው።

    18እርሱም አለው፦ ከቤተ ልሔም ይሁዳ ወደ ኤፍሬም ተራራ ወገን እንጓዛለን፤ እኔ ከዚያ ነኝ፤ ወደ ቤተ ልሔም ይሁዳ ሄጄ ነበር፤ አሁን ግን ወደ የእግዚአብሔር ቤት እሄዳለሁ፤ ነገር ግን ወደ ቤቱ ሊቀበለኝ የሚገባኝ ሰው የለም።

    19ነገር ግን ለአህያዎቻችን ገለባና ምግብ አለን፤ ለእኔም ለባሪያይትህም እና ከአገልጋዮችህ ጋር ያለው ጕልማሳም ዳቦና ወይን አለን፤ ምንም ነገር አናጎንብስም።

    20ሽማግሌውም አላቸው፦ ሰላም ይሁን ላችሁ፤ የምትፈልጉት ሁሉ በእኔ ላይ ይሁን፤ ግን በመንገድ ላይ አትድሩ።

    21ወደ ቤቱ አገባቸው፤ ለአህያዎቹም ምግብ ሰጣቸው፤ እግራቸውን አጠቡ በሉም ጠጡ።

    22እነርሱ ልባቸውን ሲያደሰኑ ሳሉ፣ እነሆ የከተማይቱ ሰዎች አንዳንድ የብልያል ልጆች ቤቱን በዙሪያ አዘጉት፤ በደጁም መደደቡና ለቤቱ ጌታ ለሽማግሌው፦ ወደ ቤትህ የገባውን ያ ሰው አውጣ እንድናውቀው አሉት።

    23የቤቱ ጌታ ሰውዬውም ወጥቶ አላቸው፦ አይደለም ወንድሞቼ ሆይ፣ አይደለም፤ እባካችሁ እንዲህ ክፉ ነገር አታድርጉ፤ ይህ ሰው ወደ ቤቴ ከገባ ግን ይህን ስንፍና አታድርጉ።

    24እነሆ ድንግል ልጀ እና የእርሱ ቁባት አሉ፤ አሁን እነሱን አወጣለሁ፤ እናስዋረዱአቸው ለእናንተም መልካም የሚመስላችሁን አድርጉባቸው፤ ነገር ግን በዚህ ሰው ላይ እጅግ አስጸያፊ የሆነ ነገር አታድርጉ።
