  • Isa 7:1-6 : 1 In the days of Ahaz, son of Jotham, son of Uzziah, king of Judah, Rezin, king of Aram, and Pekah, son of Remaliah, king of Israel, marched up to Jerusalem for battle, but they could not prevail against it. 2 When it was reported to the house of David, 'Aram has allied itself with Ephraim,' the heart of Ahaz and the hearts of his people trembled, like trees of the forest shaken by the wind. 3 The Lord said to Isaiah, 'Go out to meet Ahaz, you and Shear-Jashub, your son, at the end of the aqueduct of the upper pool, on the road to the Launderer’s Field,' 4 and say to him, 'Be careful, keep calm, and do not be afraid. Do not lose heart because of these two smoldering stubs of firewood—because of the fierce anger of Rezin and Aram and of the son of Remaliah.' 5 'Aram, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah have plotted your ruin, saying,' 6 'Let us invade Judah; let us tear it apart and divide it among ourselves, and make the son of Tabeal king over it.'
