  • Rev 4:1-9 : 1 After these things I saw, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. The first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things." 2 Immediately I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne was set in heaven, and someone was seated on the throne. 3 The one seated there had an appearance like jasper and carnelian, and all around the throne was a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald. 4 Surrounding the throne were twenty-four thrones, and upon these thrones sat twenty-four elders, clothed in white garments and wearing golden crowns on their heads. 5 From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings, and peals of thunder. In front of the throne were seven blazing torches, which are the seven Spirits of God. 6 Before the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal. In the middle of the throne and around it were four living creatures, full of eyes in front and behind. 7 The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature was like an ox, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle. 8 Each of the four living creatures had six wings and were covered with eyes all around, even under their wings. Day and night they never stop saying: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, who is, and who is to come." 9 Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to the one seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever, 10 The twenty-four elders will fall down before the one seated on the throne and worship the one who lives forever and ever. They will cast their crowns before the throne, saying: 11 "You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory, honor, and power, for you created all things, and by your will they exist and were created."
  • Rev 1:11-2:3 : 11 saying, I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last. Write what you see in a book and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea. 12 Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me, and when I turned, I saw seven golden lampstands. 13 And among the lampstands was one like the Son of Man, dressed in a long robe and with a golden sash wrapped around His chest. 14 His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes were like a fiery flame. 15 His feet were like fine bronze as it is refined in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of rushing waters. 16 He held seven stars in His right hand, a sharp double-edged sword came from His mouth, and His face shone like the sun in its full brilliance. 17 When I saw Him, I fell at His feet as though dead. Then He placed His right hand on me and said, 'Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last, 18 'the living One. I was dead, but look, I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and Hades.' 19 Write down what you have seen, what is, and what will take place after this. 20 The mystery of the seven stars you saw in My right hand and the seven golden lampstands is this: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches. 1 To the angel of the church in Ephesus, write: These are the words of the one who holds the seven stars in his right hand and walks among the seven golden lampstands: 2 I know your works, your labor, and your endurance, and that you cannot tolerate evil people. You have tested those who call themselves apostles but are not, and you have found them to be liars. 3 You have endured and have shown perseverance, and for my name’s sake, you have labored and have not grown weary.
