Their protection is gone, and the LORD is with us. Do not be afraid of them. 10 But the whole assembly talked about stoning them. Then the glory of the LORD appeared at the tent of meeting to all the Israelites.

And now, here I am today, eighty-five years old. 11 I am still as strong today as I was the day Moses sent me out. My strength now is just as it was then, whether for battle or for going out and coming in. 12 So now give me this hill country the LORD promised me on that day. You yourself heard then that the Anakim are there and their cities are large and fortified. Perhaps the LORD will be with me, and I will drive them out as the LORD said. 13 Then Joshua blessed Caleb son of Jephunneh and gave him Hebron as his inheritance. 14 So Hebron has belonged to Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite as his inheritance to this day because he wholeheartedly followed the LORD, the God of Israel.
  • Josh 15:13-20 : 13 To Caleb son of Jephunneh, he was given a portion among the descendants of Judah, based on the Lord’s command to Joshua, the city of Arba (father of Anak), which is Hebron. 14 Caleb expelled from there the three descendants of Anak: Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai, the offspring of Anak. 15 From there he went up against the inhabitants of Debir, which was formerly called Kiriath-sepher. 16 Caleb said, 'Whoever attacks Kiriath-sepher and captures it, I will give him my daughter Achsah as his wife.' 17 Othniel son of Kenaz, Caleb’s brother, captured it, so Caleb gave him his daughter Achsah as his wife. 18 When she came to him, she urged him to ask her father for a field. As she dismounted from her donkey, Caleb asked her, 'What do you want?' 19 She replied, 'Give me a blessing. Since you have given me land in the Negev, grant me also springs of water.' So Caleb gave her the upper and lower springs. 20 This is the inheritance of the tribe of the descendants of Judah, by their clans.
  • Judg 1:12-14 : 12 Caleb said, "I will give my daughter Achsah in marriage to the one who attacks and captures Kiriath-sepher." 13 Othniel son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother, captured it, and Caleb gave him his daughter Achsah in marriage. 14 When she came to him, she persuaded him to ask her father for a field. She got down from her donkey, and Caleb asked her, "What do you want?"
