39then hear from heaven, Your dwelling place. Forgive and act, and give to each one according to all they do, since You know their hearts (for You alone know every human heart),
24If Your people Israel are defeated before an enemy because they have sinned against You, and they turn back to You and confess Your name, pray, and make supplication before You in this house,
25then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of Your people Israel, and bring them back to the land You gave to them and to their ancestors.

28But as soon as they had rest, they returned to doing evil in Your sight. So You abandoned them to their enemies, who ruled over them. Yet when they again cried out to You, You heard from heaven and rescued them many times in Your abundant mercy.
7They conspire, they lurk, they watch my steps, as they wait to take my life.
2Command Aaron and his sons, saying: This is the law of the burnt offering. The burnt offering shall remain on the hearth of the altar all night until morning, and the fire on the altar must be kept burning.
13They said to them, "You must not bring the captives here, for we are already guilty before the LORD. Adding these captives will only increase our sins and guilt before God, for our guilt is already great, and His fierce anger is against Israel."
15Now, O Lord our God, who brought Your people out of the land of Egypt with a mighty hand and made a name for Yourself that endures to this day, we have sinned and acted wickedly.
23But if you do not do this, you will have sinned against the Lord. Be sure your sin will find you out.
22Repent of this wickedness of yours, and pray to the Lord. Perhaps he will forgive you for having such thoughts in your heart.

10When you tell these people all these words, they will ask you, 'Why has the LORD declared such a great calamity against us? What is our guilt? What is the sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?'
