12 Three days later, Jeroboam and all the people returned to Rehoboam, as the king had instructed them, saying, "Come back to me on the third day."

18 Then King Rehoboam sent Hadoram, who was in charge of the forced labor, but the Israelites stoned him to death. King Rehoboam, however, managed to get into his chariot and flee to Jerusalem.
19 So Israel has been in rebellion against the house of David to this day.

27 If these people go up to worship at the temple of the LORD in Jerusalem, they will again give their allegiance to their lord, Rehoboam king of Judah. They will kill me and return to King Rehoboam of Judah.
28 After seeking advice, the king made two golden calves. He said to the people, "It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem. Here are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.
5 Then Shemaiah the prophet came to Rehoboam and the leaders of Judah, who had gathered in Jerusalem because of Shishak. He said to them, "This is what the LORD says: 'You have abandoned me; therefore, I now abandon you to Shishak.'"

25 And you ignored all my advice and would have none of my correction,
17 They strengthened the kingdom of Judah and supported Rehoboam son of Solomon for three years, walking in the ways of David and Solomon during those three years.
