6 Then Hamor, the father of Shechem, went out to Jacob to speak with him.

17 But if you will not listen to us and get circumcised, we will take our daughter and leave.
18 Their words pleased Hamor and Shechem, Hamor’s son.
19 The young man did not delay in doing the thing, because he delighted in Jacob’s daughter. Now he was the most respected of all his father’s household.
20 Hamor and his son Shechem went to the gate of their city and spoke to the men of their city, saying:
22 Only on this condition will the men agree to live with us and become one people: every male among us must be circumcised, just as they are.
23 Won't their livestock, their property, and all their animals be ours? Only let us agree to them, and they will dwell with us."
24 All who went out of the gate of the city listened to Hamor and his son Shechem, and every male was circumcised—all who went out of the gate of the city.
4 Shechem said to his father Hamor, "Get me this girl as my wife."
2 And Shechem, the son of Hamor the Hivite, the prince of the land, saw her. He seized her, lay with her, and violated her.
22 'When their fathers or brothers come to us to complain, we will say to them, "Do us a favor by allowing them to have these wives, for we did not obtain wives for them during the battle. And you did not give your daughters to them, so you are not guilty of breaking your oath."'
26 They killed Hamor and his son Shechem with the sword and took Dinah from Shechem's house and left.
