If I have made gold my trust or called fine gold my security,

10 It would still be my comfort— I would even exult in the midst of unrelenting pain— for I have not denied the words of the Holy One.
11 What is my strength, that I should hope? What is my end, that I should prolong my life?
12 Is my strength the strength of stones? Is my flesh made of bronze?
13 Indeed, there is no help in me, and ability has been driven from me.
14 Why should I take my flesh in my teeth and put my life in my hands?
15 Though He slay me, yet I will hope in Him. Nevertheless, I will defend my ways before Him.

6 For His anger lasts only a moment, but His favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning.
27 If I say, 'I will forget my complaint, I will change my expression and smile,'
28 I still dread all my suffering, for I know You will not hold me innocent.
19 Will your cry for help set things in order in distress, or will your exertions of strength suffice?
7 But God will tear you down forever; He will snatch and uproot you from your tent and dislodge you from the land of the living. Selah.
36 Surely I would wear it on my shoulder, I would put it on like a crown.
21 If I have raised my hand against the fatherless, because I saw my support in the gate,
33 if I have concealed my sin as people do, hiding my guilt in my heart,
34 because I so feared the crowd and the contempt of clans terrified me that I kept silent and would not go outside—
18 So I say, 'My strength is gone, and so is my hope from the LORD.'
39 if I have eaten its produce without payment and caused the death of its owners,
3 Otherwise, they will tear me apart like a lion, ripping me to pieces with no one to rescue.
25 If this is not so, who can prove me a liar and make my words nothing?
9 If my heart has been enticed by a woman, or if I have lurked at my neighbor's door,
34 Is it not stored up with Me, sealed in My treasuries?
24 The LORD is my portion, says my soul; therefore I will hope in Him.
20 Are not my days few? Leave me alone, so I may have a moment of relief.
15 I have become like a man who does not hear and in whose mouth there are no rebukes.
16 For I wait for you, O LORD; you will answer, O Lord my God.
10 Surely the lowborn are but a breath, the highborn are but a lie. If weighed on a balance, they are nothing; together they are only a breath.
4 By your wisdom and understanding, you have made wealth for yourself, and you have gathered gold and silver into your treasuries.
