The allotment for the tribe of the descendants of Judah, by their clans, extended to the southern boundary, reaching the Edom border and the Wilderness of Zin in the Negev at its southernmost point.
Their southern border began at the edge of the Salt Sea, from the southern bay of the sea.
The boundary moved southward to the ascent of Akrabbim, passed through Zin, went up from the south to Kadesh-barnea, passed to Hezron, went up to Addar, and turned toward Karkaa.
It then passed to Azmon and continued to the Brook of Egypt, with its boundary reaching the Mediterranean Sea. This was the southern boundary.
The eastern boundary was the Salt Sea, up to the mouth of the Jordan. The northern boundary started from the northern bay of the sea at the mouth of the Jordan.
The boundary went up to Beth-hoglah and passed north of Beth-arabah, then ascended to the stone of Bohan, son of Reuben.
The boundary ascended to Debir from the Valley of Achor and turned northward toward Gilgal, which faces the Ascent of Adummim, south of the valley. Then it went to the waters of En-shemesh and ended at En-rogel.
The boundary ascended by the Valley of Ben Hinnom to the southern slope of the Jebusite city (that is, Jerusalem). Then it went up to the top of the hill that overlooks the Valley of Hinnom to the west, at the northern end of the Valley of Rephaim.
From the top of the mountain, the boundary extended to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah, went out to the cities of Mount Ephron, and then the boundary was marked out to Baalah (which is Kiriath-jearim).
The boundary turned westward from Baalah to Mount Seir, passed along to the northern slope of Mount Jearim (that is, Chesalon), went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed by Timnah.
It continued to the northern slope of Ekron, turned toward Shikkeron, passed by Mount Baalah, and went on to Jabneel, ending at the sea.
The western boundary was the coastline of the Great Sea. This was the boundary around the clans of the descendants of Judah.
