  • Lev 1:1-9 : 1 The LORD called to Moses and spoke to him from the tent of meeting, saying: 2 Speak to the Israelites and say to them: When anyone among you brings an offering to the LORD, you are to bring your offering from the livestock—either from the herd or the flock. 3 If the offering is a burnt offering from the herd, you are to offer a male without defect. You must present it at the entrance to the tent of meeting so that it will be acceptable to the LORD. 4 You are to lay your hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it will be accepted on your behalf to make atonement for you. 5 You are to slaughter the young bull before the LORD, and Aaron's sons, the priests, shall bring the blood and splash it against the sides of the altar at the entrance to the tent of meeting. 6 Then the burnt offering is to be skinned and cut into pieces. 7 The sons of Aaron the priest shall put fire on the altar and arrange wood on the fire. 8 Then Aaron's sons, the priests, shall arrange the pieces, including the head and the fat, on the wood that is burning on the altar. 9 You are to wash the internal organs and the legs with water, and the priest is to burn all of it on the altar as a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, a pleasing aroma to the LORD. 10 If the offering is a burnt offering from the flock, from either the sheep or the goats, you are to offer a male without defect. 11 You are to slaughter it on the north side of the altar before the LORD, and Aaron's sons, the priests, shall splash its blood against the sides of the altar. 12 You are to cut it into pieces, and the priest shall arrange them, including the head and the fat, on the wood that is burning on the altar. 13 You are to wash the internal organs and the legs with water, and the priest shall offer all of it and burn it on the altar as a burnt offering, an offering made by fire, a pleasing aroma to the LORD.
  • Lev 8:18-21 : 18 Moses presented the ram for the burnt offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head. 19 Moses slaughtered the ram and splashed the blood on all sides of the altar. 20 He cut the ram into pieces and burned the head, the pieces, and the fat. 21 He washed the entrails and the legs with water and burned the whole ram on the altar as a burnt offering, a pleasing aroma, a fire offering to the Lord, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
  • Lev 9:12-14 : 12 Then Aaron slaughtered the burnt offering. His sons brought him the blood, and he dashed it against all sides of the altar. 13 They brought the burnt offering to him, piece by piece, including the head, and he burned them on the altar. 14 He washed the entrails and the legs and burned them on the altar along with the burnt offering.
  • Heb 10:1-9 : 1 For the law, being only a shadow of the good things to come and not the very image of those realities, can never, through the same sacrifices that are continually offered year after year, make those who draw near perfect. 2 Otherwise, wouldn’t they have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers, having been cleansed once for all, would no longer have any consciousness of sins? 3 But instead, these sacrifices serve as a reminder of sins year after year. 4 For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. 5 Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says, "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but You prepared a body for Me. 6 You were not pleased with whole burnt offerings and offerings for sin. 7 Then I said, 'Behold, I have come—it is written about Me in the scroll of the book—to do Your will, O God.'" 8 After saying above that sacrifices, offerings, whole burnt offerings, and offerings for sins You did not desire nor were pleased with—which are offered according to the law— 9 then He said, 'Behold, I have come to do Your will.' He takes away the first to establish the second. 10 And by that will, we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. 11 Every priest stands daily ministering and offering the same sacrifices time after time, which can never take away sins. 12 But this One, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the right hand of God. 13 From that time on, He waits until His enemies are made a footstool for His feet. 14 For by one offering, He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. 15 The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First, He says: 16 "This is the covenant I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts and write them on their minds." 17 Then He adds: 'Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no longer.' 18 Now where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin. 19 Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, His body, 21 and since we have a great high priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.
