2And it was reported to the house of David, saying, Syria is allied with Ephraim. And his heart was moved, and the heart of his people, as the trees of the forest are moved with the wind.
3Then the LORD said to Isaiah, Go out now to meet Ahaz, you and Shearjashub your son, at the end of the conduit of the upper pool on the highway to the fuller's field;
4And say to him, Be careful and be quiet; do not fear, neither be fainthearted for the two tails of these smoking firebrands, for the fierce anger of Rezin with Syria, and the son of Remaliah.
5Because Syria, Ephraim, and the son of Remaliah have devised evil against you, saying,
6Let us go up against Judah and trouble it, and let us make a breach in it for ourselves, and set a king in the midst of it, even the son of Tabeal:
19For the LORD brought Judah low because of Ahaz king of Israel, for he made Judah act wickedly and transgressed grievously against the LORD.
20And Tilgath-Pilneser king of Assyria came to him, and distressed him, but did not strengthen him.
21For Ahaz took a portion out of the house of the LORD, and out of the house of the king, and of the leaders, and gave it to the king of Assyria, but he did not help him.
22And in the time of his distress, he trespassed yet more against the LORD, this is that King Ahaz.
23For he sacrificed unto the gods of Damascus, who had struck him, and he said, Because the gods of the kings of Syria help them, therefore I will sacrifice to them, that they may help me. But they were the ruin of him, and of all Israel.
29In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, Abel Beth Maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.
5So the servants of King Hezekiah came to Isaiah.
6And Isaiah said to them, Thus shall you say to your master, Thus says the LORD, Do not be afraid of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
10Moreover, the LORD spoke again to Ahaz, saying,
21Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus says the LORD God of Israel, Because you have prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria:
18He also removed the sabbath canopy they had built in the house, and the king's outer entry, from the house of the LORD for the king of Assyria.
19Now the rest of the acts of Ahaz which he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
5So the servants of King Hezekiah came to Isaiah.
6And Isaiah said to them, Thus shall you say to your master, Thus says the LORD, Do not be afraid of the words that you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
3Shalmaneser king of Assyria came up against him; and Hoshea became his servant, and gave him tribute.
37In those days the LORD began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.
18Beware lest Hezekiah persuade you, saying, The LORD will deliver us. Has any of the gods of the nations delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?
9After this, Sennacherib king of Assyria sent his servants to Jerusalem (while he was besieging Lachish with all his forces), to Hezekiah king of Judah, and to all Judah that were in Jerusalem, saying,
1In the seventeenth year of Pekah the son of Remaliah, Ahaz the son of Jotham, king of Judah, began to reign.
6So the couriers went with the letters from the king and his princes throughout all Israel and Judah, and according to the commandment of the king, saying, You children of Israel, return to the LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, and He will return to you who are escaped out of the hand of the kings of Assyria.
7And at that time Hanani the seer came to Asa king of Judah, and said to him, Because you have relied on the king of Syria, and not relied on the LORD your God, therefore the army of the king of Syria has escaped from your hand.
14And Hezekiah king of Judah sent to the king of Assyria at Lachish, saying, I have done wrong; withdraw from me. Whatever you impose on me, I will bear. So the king of Assyria imposed upon Hezekiah king of Judah three hundred talents of silver and thirty talents of gold.
9And when he heard it said of Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, Behold, he has come out to fight against you: he sent messengers again to Hezekiah, saying,
10Thus shall you speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Do not let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying, Jerusalem shall not be delivered into the hand of the king of Assyria.
11Behold, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by utterly destroying them: and shall you be delivered?
9And he heard concerning Tirhakah king of Ethiopia, He is come out to make war with you. And when he heard it, he sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying,
10Thus shall you speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not your God, in whom you trust, deceive you, saying, Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.
11Behold, you have heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands by utterly destroying them; and shall you be delivered?
2Then Asa brought out silver and gold from the treasures of the house of the LORD and of the king's house, and sent them to Benhadad king of Syria, who lived at Damascus, saying,
11Does not Hezekiah persuade you to give yourselves up to die by famine and by thirst, saying, The LORD our God will deliver us out of the hand of the king of Assyria?
18Then Asa took all the silver and the gold that were left in the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king's house, and delivered them into the hand of his servants; and King Asa sent them to Benhadad, the son of Tabrimon, the son of Hezion, king of Syria, who dwelt at Damascus, saying,
17The LORD shall bring upon you, and upon your people, and upon your father's house, days that have not come since the day that Ephraim departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.
15Nor let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying, The LORD will surely deliver us; this city shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.
16Do not listen to Hezekiah, for thus says the king of Assyria: Make peace with me by a present, and come out to me, and every one of you eat from his own vine and his own fig tree and drink the waters of his own cistern,
8Now therefore, I urge you, give pledges to my master the king of Assyria, and I will give you two thousand horses, if you are able on your part to put riders on them.
5Therefore, the LORD his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria, and they struck him and carried away a great multitude as captives, and brought them to Damascus. And he was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who struck him with a great slaughter.
4Then the word of the LORD came to Isaiah, saying,
