    18 And Gad came that day to David, and said to him, Go up, erect an altar to the LORD in the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.

    19 And David, according to the word of Gad, went up as the LORD commanded.

    20 And Araunah looked, and saw the king and his servants coming toward him: and Araunah went out, and bowed himself before the king with his face to the ground.

    21 As David came to Ornan, Ornan looked and saw David, and went out from the threshing floor, and bowed to David with his face to the ground.

    22 Then David said to Ornan, Grant me the place of this threshing floor, that I may build an altar there to the LORD; you shall grant it to me for the full price: that the plague may be stopped from the people.

    23 And Ornan said to David, Take it for yourself, and let my lord the king do what is good in his eyes: see, I give the oxen also for burnt offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the grain offering; I give it all.

    24 But King David said to Ornan, No; but I will buy it for the full price: for I will not take what is yours for the LORD, nor offer burnt offerings without cost.

    25 So David gave to Ornan six hundred shekels of gold by weight for the place.

    26 And David built there an altar to the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called upon the LORD; and he answered him from heaven by fire upon the altar of burnt offering.

    24 And the king said to Araunah, No; but I will surely buy it from you at a price: nor will I offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God of that which costs me nothing. So David bought the threshing floor and the oxen for fifty shekels of silver.

    25 And David built there an altar to the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings. So the LORD was entreated for the land, and the plague was stopped from Israel.

    18 Then the angel of the LORD commanded Gad to say to David that David should go up and build an altar to the LORD on the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

    19 And David went up at the word of Gad, which he spoke in the name of the LORD.
