4Go and tell David my servant, Thus says the LORD, You shall not build me a house to live in:

6Wherever I have walked with all Israel, did I speak a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, Why have you not built me a house of cedar?
7Now therefore thus shall you say to my servant David, Thus says the LORD of hosts, I took you from the sheepfold, even from following the sheep, that you should be ruler over my people Israel:
5Go and tell my servant David, Thus says the LORD, Shall you build me a house for me to dwell in?
25For you, O my God, have told your servant that you will build him a house: therefore your servant has found in his heart to pray before you.
26And now, LORD, you are God, and have promised this goodness to your servant:

7And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build a house unto the name of the LORD my God:
17Now then, O LORD God of Israel, let your word be verified, which you have spoken to your servant David.
18But will God indeed dwell with men on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain you; how much less this house which I have built!
17And David spoke to the LORD when he saw the angel who struck the people, and said, Behold, I have sinned, and I have done wickedly: but these sheep, what have they done? let Your hand, I pray You, be against me, and against my father's house.
27Has this thing been done by my lord the king, and you have not shown it to your servant, who should sit on the throne of my lord the king after him?
28Then King David answered and said, Call Bathsheba to me. And she came into the king's presence and stood before the king.
7Nathan said to David, You are the man. Thus says the LORD God of Israel, I anointed you king over Israel, and I delivered you out of the hand of Saul.
26And now, O God of Israel, let your word, I pray you, be verified, which you spoke to your servant David my father.
27But will God indeed dwell on the earth? Behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain you; how much less this house that I have built?
4And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who has with his hands fulfilled what he spoke with his mouth to my father David, saying,
1And it happened, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest around from all his enemies;
2That the king said to Nathan the prophet, Look now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of God dwells within curtains.
17And it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
18And the LORD said to David my father, Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart.
15And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who spoke with his mouth to David my father, and has with his hand fulfilled it, saying,
17And David said to God, Was it not I who commanded the people to be numbered? It is I who have sinned and done evil indeed; but as for these sheep, what have they done? Let your hand, I pray, O LORD my God, be on me, and on my father's house; but not on your people, that they should be afflicted.
32And King David said, Call Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada to me. And they came before the king.
23Therefore now, LORD, let the thing that you have spoken concerning your servant and concerning his house be established forever, and do as you have said.

18And David said to Saul, Who am I? and what is my life, or my father's family in Israel, that I should be son-in-law to the king?
24And Nathan said, My lord, O king, have you said, Adonijah shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne?
10Therefore David blessed the LORD before all the assembly: and David said, Blessed are You, LORD God of Israel our Father, forever and ever.
20And David said to all the assembly, Now bless the LORD your God. And all the assembly blessed the LORD God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads, and worshiped the LORD, and the king.
7And now, O LORD my God, you have made your servant king instead of David my father: and I am but a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in.
12And David perceived that the LORD had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for the sake of his people Israel.
10The LORD therefore has performed his word that he has spoken; for I have risen up in the place of David my father, and am set on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.
