And Abner sent messengers to David on his behalf, saying, Whose is the land? saying also, Make your league with me, and behold, my hand shall be with you, to bring about all Israel unto you.

11And he could not answer Abner a word again, because he feared him.
6And it came to pass, while there was war between the house of Saul and the house of David, that Abner made himself strong for the house of Saul.
8But Abner the son of Ner, captain of Saul's army, took Ishbosheth the son of Saul, and brought him over to Mahanaim;
9And made him king over Gilead, and over the Ashurites, and over Jezreel, and over Ephraim, and over Benjamin, and over all Israel.
57When David returned from killing the Philistine, Abner took him and brought him before Saul with the head of the Philistine in his hand.

3So all the elders of Israel came to the king at Hebron; and King David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD, and they anointed David king over Israel.
15And David said to him, Can you bring me down to this company? And he said, Swear to me by God, that you will neither kill me, nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will bring you down to this company.
21And Saul said, I will give her to him, that she may be a snare to him, and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him. Therefore Saul said to David, Today you shall be my son-in-law in one of the two.
22And Saul commanded his servants, saying, Speak with David secretly, and say, Behold, the king delights in you, and all his servants love you: now therefore be the king's son-in-law.
28And afterward when David heard it, he said, I and my kingdom are guiltless before the LORD forever from the blood of Abner the son of Ner.
40And when the servants of David came to Abigail at Carmel, they spoke to her, saying, David sent us to you, to take you to him as a wife.
41And she arose and bowed herself with her face to the ground, and said, Behold, let your maidservant be a servant to wash the feet of the servants of my lord.

11Will the men of Keilah deliver me into his hand? Will Saul come down, as your servant has heard? O LORD God of Israel, I beg you, tell your servant. And the LORD said, He will come down.
22And Abner said again to Asahel, Turn aside from following me: why should I strike you to the ground? How could I face Joab your brother?
30So Joab and Abishai his brother killed Abner because he had killed their brother Asahel at Gibeon in the battle.
31And David said to Joab and to all the people who were with him, Tear your clothes and gird yourselves with sackcloth, and mourn before Abner. And King David himself followed the bier.
13Go and approach King David, and say to him, Did you not, my lord, O king, swear to your servant, saying, Assuredly Solomon your son shall reign after me, and he shall sit upon my throne? Why then does Adonijah reign?
8And they brought the head of Ishbosheth to David at Hebron, and said to the king, Behold the head of Ishbosheth the son of Saul your enemy, who sought your life; and the LORD has avenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his descendants.
