7 The king cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. The king spoke and said to the wise men of Babylon, "Whoever shall read this writing, and show me its interpretation, shall be clothed with scarlet, have a chain of gold around his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom."
8 Then all the king's wise men came in, but they could not read the writing, nor make known to the king the interpretation.
9 Then King Belshazzar was greatly troubled, and his face was changed, and his lords were astonished.
10 Now the queen, because of the words of the king and his lords, came into the banquet hall. The queen spoke and said, "O king, live forever! Let not your thoughts trouble you, nor let your face be changed.
11 There is a man in your kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of your father, light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, was found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar your father, the king, I say, your father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers.
12 Forasmuch as an excellent spirit, knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, solving of riddles, and dissolving of doubts were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called, and he will show the interpretation.
15 And now the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing and make known to me its interpretation, but they could not show the interpretation of the thing.
16 And I have heard of you, that you can give interpretations and solve doubts. Now if you can read the writing and make known to me its interpretation, you shall be clothed with scarlet, have a chain of gold around your neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.
17 Then Daniel answered and said before the king, "Let your gifts be for yourself, and give your rewards to another; yet I will read the writing to the king, and make known to him the interpretation.
18 O king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father a kingdom, majesty, glory, and honor.
23 And as the king saw a watcher, a holy one, coming down from heaven and saying, 'Cut the tree down and destroy it; yet leave the stump of its roots in the earth, bound with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him.
24 This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the Most High, which is come upon my lord the king:
25 That they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make you to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet you with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He will.
30 That very night Belshazzar, king of the Chaldeans, was slain.
1 Then King Darius made a decree, and a search was made in the house of the scrolls, where the treasures were stored in Babylon.
2 And a scroll was found at Achmetha, in the palace that is in the province of the Medes, with this record written in it:
31 While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O King Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken; The kingdom has departed from you.
35 Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed together, and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors; and the wind carried them away, so that no trace of them was found: and the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.
36 This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation before the king.
37 You, O king, are a king of kings, for the God of heaven has given you a kingdom, power, strength, and glory.
28 But there is a God in heaven that reveals secrets, and makes known to King Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Your dream, and the visions of your head upon your bed, are these.
29 As for you, O king, your thoughts came into your mind upon your bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he who reveals secrets makes known to you what shall come to pass.
30 But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but for their sakes who shall make known the interpretation to the king, and that you might understand the thoughts of your heart.
31 You, O king, saw, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before you; and its form was awesome.
32 This image's head was of fine gold, its chest and arms of silver, its belly and thighs of bronze,
6 The copy of the letter that Tatnai, governor on this side of the river, and Shetharboznai, and his companions the Apharsachites, who were on this side of the river, sent to Darius the king:
25 And all the kings of Zimri, all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes,
18 This dream I, King Nebuchadnezzar, have seen. Now you, O Belteshazzar, declare its interpretation, since all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known to me the interpretation; but you are able, for the spirit of the holy gods is in you.
8 Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it may not be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which cannot be altered.
9 Therefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree.
28 All this came upon King Nebuchadnezzar.
10 And he spread it before me; and it was written on the inside and on the outside: and there was written in it lamentations, and mourning, and woe.

5 The king answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if you do not make known to me the dream and its interpretation, you shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.

1 In the third year of Cyrus, king of Persia, a message was revealed to Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the message was true, but the time appointed was long; and he understood the message and had understanding of the vision.
34 All was counted and weighed, and all the weight was recorded at that time.
10 And, behold, a hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.
25 Then Arioch brought Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus to him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, who will make known the interpretation to the king.
