    31To confirm these days of Purim in their appointed times, according as Mordecai the Jew and Esther the queen had commanded them, and as they had decreed for themselves and for their descendants, in matters of fasting and lamentation.

    32And the decree of Esther confirmed these matters of Purim; and it was written in the book.

    12On a single day in all the provinces of King Ahasuerus, namely, the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar.

    13The copy of the document for a decree to be proclaimed in every province was published to all peoples, that the Jews should be prepared on that day to avenge themselves on their enemies.

    14So the couriers who rode on mules and camels went out, being hurried and urged on by the king's command, and the decree was issued in Shushan the palace.

    15And Mordecai went out from the presence of the king in royal apparel of blue and white, and with a great crown of gold, and with a garment of fine linen and purple; and the city of Shushan rejoiced and was glad.

  • 5And said, If it pleases the king, and if I have found favor in his sight, and the matter is right before the king, and I am pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to revoke the letters devised by Haman, the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews in all the king's provinces.

  • 17And in every province and every city, wherever the king's command and his decree came, the Jews had joy, gladness, a feast, and a good day. And many of the people of the land became Jews, for the fear of the Jews fell upon them.

  • 3In every province, wherever the king's commandment and his decree came, there was great mourning among the Jews, with fasting, weeping, and wailing; and many lay in sackcloth and ashes.

  • 6And in the reign of Ahasuerus, at the start of his reign, they wrote to him an accusation against the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem.

  • 10Then the king said to Haman, Hurry, take the robe and the horse, as you have said, and do so to Mordecai the Jew, who sits at the king's gate: let nothing fail of all that you have spoken.

  • 19And when the virgins were gathered together the second time, Mordecai sat in the king's gate.

  • 2And it was found written that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king's chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who had sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus.
