Then Jeremiah said to Zedekiah, Thus says the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; If you will assuredly go forth to the king of Babylon's princes, then your soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire, and you shall live, and your house.

7 And afterward, says the LORD, I will deliver Zedekiah king of Judah, and his servants, and the people, and those who are left in this city from the pestilence, from the sword, and from the famine, into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those that seek their lives, and he shall strike them with the edge of the sword; he shall not spare them, nor have pity, nor have mercy.
8 And to this people you shall say, Thus says the LORD; Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death.
9 He who remains in this city shall die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence; but he who goes out, and falls to the Chaldeans who besiege you, he shall live, and his life shall be as a prize to him.
17 Do not listen to them; serve the king of Babylon, and live: why should this city be laid waste?
21 And Zedekiah king of Judah and his princes I will give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those who seek their life, and into the hand of the king of Babylon's army, which have gone up from you.
2 And it shall come to pass, if they say to you, Where shall we go forth? then you shall tell them, Thus says the LORD; Those for death, to death; and those for the sword, to the sword; and those for the famine, to the famine; and those for the captivity, to the captivity.
