4 And when the jubilee of the children of Israel shall be, then their inheritance will be added to the inheritance of the tribe into which they are received; so their inheritance will be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers.
5 And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the word of the LORD, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph has spoken well.
6 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,
7 The daughters of Zelophehad speak rightly: you shall surely give them a possession of an inheritance among their father's brothers; and you shall cause the inheritance of their father to pass to them.
8 And you shall speak to the children of Israel, saying, If a man dies and has no son, then you shall cause his inheritance to pass to his daughter.
9 And if he has no daughter, then you shall give his inheritance to his brothers.
10 And if he has no brothers, then you shall give his inheritance to his father's brothers.
11 And if his father has no brothers, then you shall give his inheritance to his nearest kinsman from his family, and he shall possess it: and it shall be a statute of judgment to the children of Israel, as the LORD commanded Moses.
3 But Zelophehad, the son of Hepher, the son of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, had no sons, only daughters. And these are the names of his daughters: Mahlah, Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
4 They approached Eleazar the priest, Joshua the son of Nun, and the leaders, saying, "The LORD commanded Moses to give us an inheritance among our brothers." Therefore, according to the commandment of the LORD, he gave them an inheritance among their father's brothers.
16 These are the statutes which the LORD commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, between the father and his daughter, being yet in her youth in her father's house.

12 Now therefore do not give your daughters to their sons, nor take their daughters for your sons, nor seek their peace or their wealth forever, that you may be strong and eat the good of the land, and leave it as an inheritance to your children forever.
16 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

13 And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying, 'This is the land which you shall inherit by lot, which the LORD commanded to give to the nine tribes and to the half tribe:'
15 And Machir took to wife the sister of Huppim and Shuppim, whose sister's name was Maachah;) and the name of the second was Zelophehad: and Zelophehad had daughters.
