5So put to death whatever in your nature belongs to the earth: sexual immorality, impurity, shameful passion, evil desire, and greed which is idolatry.
17Exhortation to the Faithful But you, dear friends– recall the predictions foretold by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ.
14Instead, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh to arouse its desires.

14Exhortation to the Faithful Therefore, dear friends, since you are waiting for these things, strive to be found at peace, without spot or blemish, when you come into his presence.
11But you, as a person dedicated to God, keep away from all that. Instead pursue righteousness, godliness, faithfulness, love, endurance, and gentleness.
13These all died in faith without receiving the things promised, but they saw them in the distance and welcomed them and acknowledged that they were strangers and foreigners on the earth.
21So put away all filth and evil excess and humbly welcome the message implanted within you, which is able to save your souls.
