7“Be strong and brave! Don’t be afraid and don’t panic because of the king of Assyria and this huge army that is with him! We have with us one who is stronger than those who are with him.

20Your claim to have a strategy and military strength is just empty talk. In whom are you trusting that you would dare to rebel against me?
21The LORD sent a messenger and he wiped out all the soldiers, princes, and officers in the army of the king of Assyria. So Sennacherib returned home humiliated. When he entered the temple of his god, some of his own sons struck him down with the sword.
22The LORD delivered Hezekiah and the residents of Jerusalem from the power of King Sennacherib of Assyria and from all the other nations. He made them secure on every side.

13Be strong! Let’s fight bravely for the sake of our people and the cities of our God! The LORD will do what he decides is best!”
12Now look, God is with us as our leader. His priests are ready to blow the trumpets to signal the attack against you. You Israelites, don’t fight against the LORD God of your ancestors, for you will not win!”
1Sennacherib Invades Judah After these faithful deeds were accomplished, King Sennacherib of Assyria invaded Judah. He besieged the fortified cities, intending to seize them.
2When Hezekiah saw that Sennacherib had invaded and intended to attack Jerusalem,
3he consulted with his advisers and military officers about stopping up the springs outside the city, and they supported him.
12Our God, will you not judge them? For we are powerless against this huge army that attacks us! We don’t know what we should do; we look to you for help.”
13Are you not aware of what I and my predecessors have done to all the nations of the surrounding lands? Have the gods of the surrounding lands actually been able to rescue their lands from my power?
14Who among all the gods of these nations whom my predecessors annihilated was able to rescue his people from my power, that your God would be able to rescue you from my power?
15Now don’t let Hezekiah deceive you or mislead you like this. Don’t believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to rescue his people from my power or the power of my predecessors. So how can your gods rescue you from my power?’”
15He said:“Pay attention, all you people of Judah, residents of Jerusalem, and King Jehoshaphat! This is what the LORD says to you:‘Don’t be afraid and don’t panic because of this huge army! For the battle is not yours, but God’s.
17You will not fight in this battle. Take your positions, stand, and watch the LORD deliver you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Don’t be afraid and don’t panic! Tomorrow march out toward them; the LORD is with you!’”
10Devise your strategy, but it will be thwarted! Issue your orders, but they will not be executed! For God is with us!
15Don’t let Hezekiah talk you into trusting in the LORD by saying,“The LORD will certainly rescue us; this city will not be handed over to the king of Assyria.”
5Isaiah said to Hezekiah,“Listen to the message of the LORD of Heaven’s Armies:

13They commanded an army of 307,500 skilled and able warriors who were ready to defend the king against his enemies.

8Assyria will fall by a sword, but not one human-made; a sword not made by humankind will destroy them. They will run away from this sword and their young men will be forced to do hard labor.
19Now, O LORD our God, rescue us from his power, so that all the kingdoms of the earth will know that you, LORD, are the only God.”
17Pay attention, LORD, and hear! Open your eyes, LORD, and observe! Listen to this entire message Sennacherib sent and how he taunts the living God!
18It is true, LORD, that the kings of Assyria have destroyed all the nations and their lands.
19They will attack you but they will not be able to overcome you, for I will be with you to rescue you,” says the LORD.
7The LORD of Heaven’s Armies is on our side! The God of Jacob is our protector!(Selah)

6Jonathan said to his armor bearer,“Come on, let’s go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised men. Perhaps the LORD will intervene for us. Nothing can prevent the LORD from delivering, whether by many or by a few.”
23Now the advisers of the king of Syria said to him:“Their God is a god of the mountains. That’s why they overpowered us. But if we fight them in the plains, we will certainly overpower them.
7The LORD was with him; he succeeded in all his endeavors. He rebelled against the king of Assyria and refused to submit to him.
6and rescue you and this city from the king of Assyria. I will shield this city.”’”
