32King David said,“Summon Zadok the priest, Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah son of Jehoiada.” They came before the king,
37I will select you; you will rule over all you desire to have and you will be king over Israel.
38You must obey all I command you to do, follow my instructions, do what I approve, and keep my rules and commandments, like my servant David did. Then I will be with you and establish for you a lasting dynasty, as I did for David; I will give you Israel.
17You must serve me as your father David did. Do everything I commanded and obey my rules and regulations.
11“Now, my son, may the LORD be with you! May you succeed and build a temple for the LORD your God, just as he announced you would.
37As the LORD is with my master the king, so may he be with Solomon, and may he make him an even greater king than my master King David!”
1Nathan the Prophet Confronts David So the LORD sent Nathan to David. When he came to David, Nathan said,“There were two men in a certain city, one rich and the other poor.
3and the whole assembly made a covenant with the king in the temple of God. Jehoiada said to them,“The king’s son will rule, just as the LORD promised David’s descendants.
35Then follow him up as he comes and sits on my throne. He will be king in my place; I have decreed that he will be ruler over Israel and Judah.”
25So now, O LORD God, make this promise you have made about your servant and his family a permanent reality. Do as you promised,
11Nathan said to Bathsheba, Solomon’s mother,“Has it been reported to you that Haggith’s son Adonijah has become king behind our master David’s back?
12Now let me give you some advice as to how you can save your life and your son Solomon’s life.
9The LORD told Gad, David’s prophet,
10“Go, tell David,‘This is what the LORD says:“I am offering you three forms of judgment from which to choose. Pick one of them.”’”
4You must serve me with integrity and sincerity, just as your father David did. Do everything I commanded and obey my rules and regulations.

27for you, O LORD of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, have told your servant,‘I will build you a dynastic house.’ That is why your servant has had the courage to pray this prayer to you.
18So Samuel told him everything. He did not hold back anything from him. Eli said,“The LORD will do what he pleases.”
10David’s power grew steadily, for the LORD God of Heaven’s Armies was with him.
23So now, O LORD, may the promise you made about your servant and his family become a permanent reality! Do as you promised,
27Has my master the king authorized this without informing your servants who should succeed my master the king on his throne?”
19O LORD, for the sake of your servant and according to your will, you have done this great thing in order to reveal your greatness.
9I was with you wherever you went, and I defeated all your enemies before you. Now I will make you as famous as the great men of the earth.
