I will sharpen my lightning-like sword, and my hand will grasp hold of the weapon of judgment; I will execute vengeance on my foes, and repay those who hate me!

31So I have poured my anger on them, and destroyed them with the fire of my fury. I hereby repay them for what they have done, declares the Sovereign LORD.”
20So I said,“O LORD of Heaven’s Armies, you are a just judge! You examine people’s hearts and minds. I want to see you pay them back for what they have done because I trust you to vindicate my cause.”
4Even when their enemies drive them into captivity, from there I will command the sword to kill them. I will not let them out of my sight; they will experience disaster, not prosperity.”
19But those who are my enemies for no reason are numerous; those who hate me without cause outnumber me.
3and say to them,‘This is what the LORD says: Look, I am against you. I will draw my sword from its sheath and cut off from you both the righteous and the wicked.
4Because I will cut off from you both the righteous and the wicked, my sword will go out from its sheath against everyone from the south to the north.
37I chase my enemies and catch them; I do not turn back until I wipe them out.
9The enemy said,‘I will chase, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my desire will be satisfied on them. I will draw my sword, my hand will destroy them.’
10But as for me, my eye will not pity them nor will I spare them; I hereby repay them for what they have done.”
9His anger has torn me and persecuted me; he has gnashed at me with his teeth; my adversary locks his eyes on me.
11“‘He gave it to be polished, to be grasped in the hand– the sword is sharpened, it is polished– giving it into the hand of the executioner.
12O LORD of Heaven’s Armies, you test and prove the righteous. You see into people’s hearts and minds. Pay them back for what they have done because I trust you to vindicate my cause.
14Why do I put myself in peril, and take my life in my hands?

23I will crush his enemies before him; I will strike down those who hate him.
29Fear the sword yourselves, for wrath brings the punishment by the sword, so that you may know that there is judgment.”
