8He will kill your daughters in the field with the sword. He will build a siege wall against you, erect a siege ramp against you, and raise a great shield against you.
9He will direct the blows of his battering rams against your walls and tear down your towers with his weapons.

11“‘For this is what the Sovereign LORD says:“‘The sword of the king of Babylon will attack you.
12By the swords of the mighty warriors I will cause your hordes to fall– all of them are the most terrifying among the nations. They will devastate the pride of Egypt, and all its hordes will be destroyed.
15Then the king of the north will advance and will build siege mounds and capture a well-fortified city. The forces of the south will not prevail, not even his finest contingents. They will have no strength to prevail.
16The one advancing against him will do as he pleases, and no one will be able to stand before him. He will prevail in the beautiful land, and its annihilation will be within his power.

2“Son of man, turn toward Pharaoh king of Egypt, and prophesy against him and against all Egypt.
3Tell them,‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says:“‘Look, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Egypt, the great monster lying in the midst of its waterways, who has said,“My Nile is my own, I made it for myself.”
7For this reason the Sovereign LORD says:“It will not take place; it will not happen.
12When the army is taken away, the king of the south will become arrogant. He will be responsible for the death of thousands and thousands of people, but he will not continue to prevail.
24I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, and I will place my sword in his hand, but I will break the arms of Pharaoh, and he will groan like the fatally wounded before the king of Babylon.
25I will strengthen the arms of the king of Babylon, but the arms of Pharaoh will fall limp. Then they will know that I am the LORD when I place my sword in the hand of the king of Babylon and he extends it against the land of Egypt.

33So this is what the LORD says about the king of Assyria:‘He will not enter this city, nor will he shoot an arrow here. He will not attack it with his shielded warriors, nor will he build siege works against it.
2Lay siege to it! Build siege works against it. Erect a siege ramp against it! Post soldiers outside it and station battering rams around it.

11Therefore,” says the Sovereign LORD,“an enemy will encircle the land. He will take away your power; your fortresses will be looted.”
25He will rouse his strength and enthusiasm against the king of the south with a large army. The king of the south will wage war with a large and very powerful army, but he will not be able to prevail because of the plans devised against him.
11No human foot will pass through it, and no animal’s foot will pass through it; it will be uninhabited for forty years.
