  • 4This is what the LORD says:“Because Judah has committed three covenant transgressions– make that four!– I will not revoke my decree of judgment. They rejected the LORD’s law; they did not obey his commands. Their false gods, to which their fathers were loyal, led them astray.

  • 14But I will punish you as your deeds deserve,’ says the LORD.‘I will set fire to your palace; it will burn up everything around it.’”

  • 19You may say,‘God stores up a man’s punishment for his children!’ Instead let him repay the man himself so that he may be humbled!

  • 17But now you are preoccupied with the judgment due the wicked, judgment and justice take hold of you.

  • 8The LORD was angry at Judah and Jerusalem and made them an appalling object of horror at which people hiss out their scorn, as you can see with your own eyes.

  • 31No one denounces his conduct to his face; no one repays him for what he has done.

  • 18So I, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, say:‘I will punish the king of Babylon and his land just as I punished the king of Assyria.

  • 14For many nations and great kings will make slaves of the king of Babylon and his nation too. I will repay them for all they have done!’”

  • 4The Lord Reminds Them of the Unfaithfulness of Their Ancestors Now listen to what the LORD’s message, you descendants of Jacob, all you family groups from the nation of Israel.

  • 7Does the family of Jacob say,‘The LORD’s patience can’t be exhausted– he would never do such things’? To be sure, my commands bring a reward for those who obey them,

  • 20“Proclaim this message among the descendants of Jacob. Make it known throughout Judah.
