  • 7 Your land is devastated, your cities burned with fire. Right before your eyes your crops are being destroyed by foreign invaders. They leave behind devastation and destruction.

  • 20 Warning to Jerusalem People of Jerusalem, go up to Lebanon and cry out in mourning. Go to the land of Bashan and cry out loudly. Cry out in mourning from the mountains of Moab. For your allies have all been defeated.

  • 13 Listen, you who sit enthroned above the valley on a rocky plateau. I am opposed to you,’ says the LORD.‘You boast,“No one can swoop down on us. No one can penetrate into our places of refuge.”

  • 11 Therefore, because you make the poor pay taxes on their crops and exact a grain tax from them, you will not live in the houses you built with chiseled stone, nor will you drink the wine from the fine vineyards you planted.
