Listen, you who sit enthroned above the valley on a rocky plateau. I am opposed to you,’ says the LORD.‘You boast,“No one can swoop down on us. No one can penetrate into our places of refuge.”

He will roar mightily against his land. He will shout in triumph like those stomping juice from the grapes against all those who live on the earth.

  • 6All of this is because the LORD of Heaven’s Armies has said:‘Cut down the trees around Jerusalem and build up a siege ramp against its walls. This is the city which is to be punished. Nothing but oppression happens in it.

  • 24Therefore, the Sovereign LORD of Heaven’s Armies, the Powerful One of Israel, says this:“Ah, I will seek vengeance against my adversaries, I will take revenge against my enemies.

  • 22For I, the LORD, affirm that I will soon give the order and bring them back to this city. They will fight against it and capture it and burn it down. I will also make the towns of Judah desolate so that there will be no one living in them.”’”
