This is what the LORD says to his chosen one, to Cyrus, whose right hand I hold in order to subdue nations before him, and disarm kings, to open doors before him, so gates remain unclosed:

  • 23On that day,’ says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies,‘I will take you, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, my servant,’ says the LORD,‘and I will make you like a signet ring, for I have chosen you,’ says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies.”

  • 13And now, I will break Assyria’s yoke bar from your neck; I will tear apart the shackles that are on you.”
