  • 23The nations will know that the house of Israel went into exile due to their iniquity, for they were unfaithful to me. So I hid my face from them and handed them over to their enemies; all of them died by the sword.

  • 32Your sons and daughters will be given to another people while you look on in vain all day, and you will be powerless to do anything about it.

  • 7All who encountered them devoured them. Their enemies who did this said,‘We are not liable for punishment! For those people have sinned against the LORD, their true pasture. They have sinned against the LORD in whom their ancestors trusted.’

  • 17because they will lack bread and water. Each one will be terrified, and they will rot for their iniquity.

  • 8They feed on the sin offerings of my people; their appetites long for their iniquity!

  • 55But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land before you, then those whom you allow to remain will be irritants in your eyes and thorns in your side, and will cause you trouble in the land where you will be living.

  • 14I will make you serve your enemies in a land that you know nothing about. For my anger is like a fire that will burn against you.”

  • 22Finally the LORD could no longer endure your wicked deeds and the disgusting things you did. That is why your land has become the desolate, uninhabited ruin that it is today. That is why it has become a proverbial example used in curses.

  • 4Even when their enemies drive them into captivity, from there I will command the sword to kill them. I will not let them out of my sight; they will experience disaster, not prosperity.”

  • 10“‘But the Levites who went far from me, straying off from me after their idols when Israel went astray, will be responsible for their sin.

  • 16I will scatter them among nations that neither they nor their ancestors have known anything about. I will send people chasing after them with swords until I have destroyed them.’”
