20Brethren, become not children in the understanding, but in the evil be ye babes, and in the understanding become ye perfect;
17This, then, I say, and I testify in the Lord; ye are no more to walk, as also the other nations walk, in the vanity of their mind,
18being darkened in the understanding, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardness of their heart,
19who, having ceased to feel, themselves did give up to the lasciviousness, for the working of all uncleanness in greediness;
20and ye did not so learn the Christ,
2as new-born babes the word's pure milk desire ye, that in it ye may grow,
14but put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and for the flesh take no forethought -- for desires.
6because of which things cometh the anger of God upon the sons of the disobedience,
7in which also ye -- ye did walk once, when ye lived in them;
3for we were once -- also we -- thoughtless, disobedient, led astray, serving desires and pleasures manifold, in malice and envy living, odious -- hating one another;
14wherefore, beloved, these things waiting for, be diligent, spotless and unblameable, by Him to be found in peace,

17Ye, then, beloved, knowing before, take heed, lest, together with the error of the impious being led away, ye may fall from your own stedfastness,

3among whom also we all did walk once in the desires of our flesh, doing the wishes of the flesh and of the thoughts, and were by nature children of wrath -- as also the others,
15that ye may become blameless and harmless, children of God, unblemished in the midst of a generation crooked and perverse, among whom ye do appear as luminaries in the world,
4through which to us the most great and precious promises have been given, that through these ye may become partakers of a divine nature, having escaped from the corruption in the world in desires.
5And this same also -- all diligence having brought in besides, superadd in your faith the worthiness, and in the worthiness the knowledge,
6and in the knowledge the temperance, and in the temperance the endurance, and in the endurance the piety,
21wherefore having put aside all filthiness and superabundance of evil, in meekness be receiving the engrafted word, that is able to save your souls;
4to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and unfading, reserved in the heavens for you,
7concerning all things thyself showing a pattern of good works; in the teaching uncorruptedness, gravity, incorruptibility,
8for ye were once darkness, and now light in the Lord; as children of light walk ye,
17and ye, beloved, remember ye the sayings spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ:
4And the fathers! provoke not your children, but nourish them in the instruction and admonition of the Lord.
2having beheld your pure behaviour in fear,
14not giving heed to Jewish fables and commands of men, turning themselves away from the truth;
