15be diligent to present thyself approved to God -- a workman irreproachable, rightly dividing the word of the truth;
15that ye may become blameless and harmless, children of God, unblemished in the midst of a generation crooked and perverse, among whom ye do appear as luminaries in the world,
10for your proving the things that differ, that ye may be pure and offenceless -- to a day of Christ,
9in like manner also the women, in becoming apparel, with modesty and sobriety to adorn themselves, not in braided hair, or gold, or pearls, or garments of great price,
10but -- which becometh women professing godly piety -- through good works.
15these things be speaking, and exhorting, and convicting, with all charge; let no one despise thee!
7so that ye became patterns to all those believing in Macedonia and Achaia,
6These things placing before the brethren, thou shalt be a good ministrant of Jesus Christ, being nourished by the words of the faith, and of the good teaching, which thou didst follow after,
8Stedfast `is' the word; and concerning these things I counsel thee to affirm fully, that they may be thoughtful, to be leading in good works -- who have believed God; these are the good and profitable things to men,
1Remind them to be subject to principalities and authorities, to obey rule, unto every good work to be ready,
2of no one to speak evil, not to be quarrelsome -- gentle, showing all meekness to all men,
3in nothing giving any cause of offence, that the ministration may be not blamed,
4but in everything recommending ourselves as God's ministrants; in much patience, in tribulations, in necessities, in distresses,
2having beheld your pure behaviour in fear,
7for it behoveth the overseer to be blameless, as God's steward, not self-pleased, nor irascible, not given to wine, not a striker, not given to filthy lucre;
8but a lover of strangers, a lover of good men, sober-minded, righteous, kind, self-controlled,
9holding -- according to the teaching -- to the stedfast word, that he may be able also to exhort in the sound teaching, and the gainsayers to convict;
21if, then, any one may cleanse himself from these, he shall be a vessel to honour, sanctified and profitable to the master -- to every good work having been prepared,
22and the youthful lusts flee thou, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those calling upon the Lord out of a pure heart;
1Having put aside, then, all evil, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envyings, and all evil speakings,
2as new-born babes the word's pure milk desire ye, that in it ye may grow,
21providing right things, not only before the Lord, but also before men;
14as obedient children, not fashioning yourselves to the former desires in your ignorance,
15of these things be careful; in these things be, that thy advancement may be manifest in all things;
17become followers together of me, brethren, and observe those thus walking, according as ye have us -- a pattern;
7and it behoveth him also to have a good testimony from those without, that he may not fall into reproach and a snare of the devil.
8Ministrants -- in like manner grave, not double-tongued, not given to much wine, not given to filthy lucre,

2and the things that thou didst hear from me through many witnesses, these things be committing to stedfast men, who shall be sufficient also others to teach;
2but did renounce for ourselves the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness, nor deceitfully using the word of God, but by the manifestation of the truth recommending ourselves unto every conscience of men, before God;
7but even as in every thing ye do abound, in faith, and word, and knowledge, and all diligence, and in your love to us, that also in this grace ye may abound;
7for yourselves have known how it behoveth `you' to imitate us, because we did not act disorderly among you;
14and let them learn -- ours also -- to be leading in good works to the necessary uses, that they may not be unfruitful.
6and in the knowledge the temperance, and in the temperance the endurance, and in the endurance the piety,
7and in the piety the brotherly kindness, and in the brotherly kindness the love;
10And thou -- thou hast followed after my teaching, manner of life, purpose, faith, long-suffering, love, endurance,
14that thou keep the command unspotted, unblameable, till the manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ,
14wherefore, beloved, these things waiting for, be diligent, spotless and unblameable, by Him to be found in peace,
